Who knew the dogloids can be produced by simple pendulums. Not I. I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Obo9Vb0dahs Hey, I'm always up for a weekend call with anyone here to chat about lasers, the universe, and everything. Steve, email or pm me a number and time, and I'll place...

DIE-ONICs. Cute, I hadn't heard that one. No, this Laser Ionics Model 554 mixed-gas laser was for a static planetarium installation. I agree entirely on what a pain in the ass it must have been to service it. Luckily, the planetarium client bought the laser, I designed and built the 4-color, 3W...

You performed shows with a DIE-ONICs ? You have my utmost respect... (Laser Ionics, notorious for broken gas reservoirs when traveling, but highly cost effective in use!) Not easy to change the tube, as it was glassed in through a hole in the resonator base. If I'm wrong, that is the other blue...

There are also plenty of people in this industry that have funds who would invest. I'd invest hardware and shop time, in a Heartbeat, as that is what I have. . You should not even think about crowd funding. It often doesn't end well. OK, well, sometimes it does, but not often. "Hey there...

Thanks mixedgas for this insight into today's high quality mirror balls. It is a far cry better than those from the old days...square mirrors glued onto Styrofoam spheres. I loved seeing them form the aluminum shell halves.

I have a job interview this afternoon. I'm not even hired yet and I already have a cheap shit recruiter out of DC data mining me for a position in the beltway. You might have got 990,000 hits from one URL trying to scarf what your doing. Steve

Greg, I have read this thread and the CYGB-A multiple times. It has been an inspiration and I have learned a great deal from them. Thank you. Regarding the video links. When I click them in the thread they are not working for me.

At this point in time you may want to keep the tech details of your software work product more closely held. There are some real vultures out there. Ask me on the phone some time about laser harp development, and who really did the work.

I'm a bit puzzled by the number of views of this thread, which has shot up by the better part of a million since the last postings a couple of weeks ago. The samples of my work on youtube which I post links to here only get twenty or so views. I don't care a toss about getting views on youtube, but...

Hi Steve, The scan head we have came with a MicroMax ST-133 5MHz unit, which I believe they intended on using to drive the galvos. It's made for use with particular cameras, not for scan heads (which makes it odd that it came with the scanner). Have you ever seen something like this be used as a...

Wow - those things are *BUILT*. I've only ever seen the styrofoam balls with the square mirrors. Obviously those are much easier to assemble though. Everything about these things is complicated, from the metal forming necessary to get the dome shapes, to the painstaking trimming of the...

I like the hybrid design from Shadow & Lazerjock, but I must admit that I also like the one from MixedGas, as it's a throwback to the original SELEM logo from 2007. Does anyone else have any submissions? Adam
