One minor code change later and my mind is blown. Moving the whole 6b universe into a 3D universe gives immediate and amazing results.

SAGE was the computer that produced 3D effects in Laserium shows beginning in 1987. It was a separate thing from the Choreographics system. An example of sage graphics is the yellow and green zig zag lines in my tribute to L.A. Woman video. Until recently little was publicly known about the SAGE....

I would assume it is just an analog signal, you might want to take a look at the old OpenLase project by Hector Martin. That should give you some inspiration and technical insight.
