White boards have a very smooth surface, and therefore make a nearly specular reflection as well as the diffused. There's a possibility the OP got that reflection in the eye. A Watt of blue light sent toward a white board is a really stupid thing to do. Turning off the room lights to "see the...

I've been taught the math but, it's been a few years ago and I'm getting ready to run out the door but, based on what you have described, I don't think an indirect specular reflection of a split second, from a 1watt 445, even off a white surface would cause lasting damage. I'm sure someone else...

I've seen some dazzle shows that flash blind you. It can be effective to kill night vision and increase apparent contrast but it hurts my eyes. I use to like the after images when I only had an argon. It gave the illusion of full color.

Nice guess but no not a flight sim. Although I think people wanting to make one would be interested in the solution, haven't seen what they use first hand but for projected geodesic domes people use security half sphere mirrors and those aren't perfectly suited for the job although aren't too bad...

Accutronitis/Wavelength and now webcansirbob wants you to fight with him, he likes it. Why else would he join LPF and use the name Accutronitis there so you could find him on that forum through web searching? You can glue the Mylar on with most glue BUT. You have to hold its shape while the glue dries or it wrinkles and the glue must be low shrinkage. A form and stretch is superior for Mylar. You can plate on plastic. I have no idea if you can really make a mirror though. Polish metal. It's always...
