Perhaps a bug thats crept in (at a hopeful guess - its very new so gonna have some teething probs)

Hi, thanks for pointing this out!
It is reported to Pangolin and will be fixed in the next update.
But there is a way around to still use a timeline longer than 16 beats.
Add a frame to the timeline and MOVE it behind the 16 beats.
You will see that the timeline will expand.
Do not try to make the frame longer just move it.

    A few points.

    1. LAStudio is free software. It was once sold for $2000 (yes, just the software with no hardware). We give it away for free so that people can benefit from our hardware. But also since we give it away for free, that should be an indication that it's not worth as much as the software we charge money for. And we are hoping people won't complain about something they've received for free. (As an aside, LAStudio hasn't been updated since around 2002, and won't be updated.) If it works for you, great! If not, well, you didn't pay anything for it anyway...

    2. The timeline in QS build 128 isn't seconds, it's beats. And it's not limited. You just slide an event past the right side and then "manipulate" the zoom slider on the bottom. Internally to Pangolin we are up to build 136 now, but it's not ready for release. Build 136 allows you to specify the show in terms of beats or time (and defaults to time). It also has more bells and whistles.

The timeline is probably the weakest part of build 128, and it is the main thing we have been working on since.

    3. As always, posting to this forum is REALLY!!! not the best way to communicate a problem to Pangolin. There could be weeks in between times we look at this forum, but only hours before we look at direct emails.

    Best regards,

    William Benner

    HI Ollie,

First, you didn't offend me. Second, I don't think you are being rude. I think nobody in this thread has had an intention of being rude (although I am sure some might think my own comments themselves were "rude").

Words in an email or forum discussion often come across cold or "rude", just because of the nature of the medium.

In this case, I think it was good that someone pointed out a perceived problem with QuickShow (only 16 seconds) because it gives us a chance to point out the solution and also another feature (lots of things in QuickShow can work on the basis of either beats or time).

But also, what I *tried* to accomplish in my post was to be informational. In addition to the information about QS, I wanted to convey that LAStudio is free, but nearly unsupported software.

    Bill
