Nice one! - I had to adjust my galvos a little to get the horizontal line straight but ur looks fine! Do you notice any pink edges on the white portion of the demo circle? or other demos animations? I do since i moved my galvos, but I didnt have much of an option as the was the only way I could get the thing to project straight!
I just purchased a mini HD recorder so Ill post some of my videos using the ishow DAC, will be good to compare. Black case looks better than my pinky purple one!
Yes there ist always the brighter bluray visible on mixed lines, but its good centered. However, i dont know if its the sloppy drawed animations programmed in, or if its the laser himself. but circles arent really round, lines are not pefect straight, and its flickering like hell.
I would say its 15k at max but i have to test it with DAC and Testframe bevor making any final judgement!
Also the power dont seem like 300mW to me. can that be? but my brother's 15mW DX Greenie is brighter...
Have to get some of these intence sticks and make Beamshots the days!

Great thanks for that ray of hope Flecom! I must say I still have suspitions on the scan speed, as Xer0 impression of the bult in animations are the same as mine but without a decent DAC I have no way of cross checking, I know with ishow the image gets really skewed at 30k + and animations dont stop flickering until about the 35k+ setting in ishow.

Hey, I adjusted my scanners again and got a way better circle than the original. I turned the Blue diode driver board around the other way to make room for the X scanner(that driver gets in the way). Adjusting both looks like I got the horizontal/vertical pretty close. well my friend purchased a 500mw green projector with "20k" scanners from miererlight on ebay and the scanners did the ilda test pattern fine at 20kpps out of the box and 24kpps after a bit of tweaking

what control dac and software was he using? Might just me the ishow dac thats causing the problem, wont know for sure until i get my soundcard dac made.
Have my projector in hand. Have only had time to plug it in and look at built in show. VERY HAPPY considering the price. I'm a very realistic person . . . did not expect a $1,000 piece of equipment for only $350. Haven't looked it over thoroughly yet, but is there no power switch? Do you have to turn off by unplugging? If so, not real happy with that. Also, wish they had spent an extra penny or two and used decent screws . . . tried to remove cover and got stopped on the second screw when I nearly stripped it (VERY FRUSTRATING). Again, want to emphasize that I'm very pleased so far considering the amount spent.
Yeah I know what you mean, the screws are really soft eh. Try another screw driver. post some pics when u get time. I still want to know what the scan speed is for the scanners. The builtin demos look like they run slow. Usually the animations are more flashy than the simple animated lines. I notice with ishow overclocking the scanspeed to about 40k the flashyness goes away and is ok on the simple vector demos but makes more complex ilda frames look mutant!

.At this point all I have is the projector. Still groping in the dark. Don't know where to go next (DMX ???, DAC ???). I really need a VERY SIMPLE how to guide Like the "Dummies Guide To . . . ". I'm so lost DMX and DAC are just vague terms to me. Do I need both? Any sugestions?
a DAC is a Digital to Analog converter used to control ILDA enabled Lasers( 25pin connection port on the back of ur laser). Dacs are small boxes that just interface between the laser and your computers USB port *(or PCI slot via interface card.) usually bundled with basic laser control software to draw animations.(more info look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_p...ller_.28DAC.29 )
DMX controller looks like a sound mixer but its for controlling lighting that is DMX enabled using a DMX cable (PF-114 has this connection too, its the round one). Some DACs are hybrid and can do the ILDA animation stuff and also DMX control. (more info look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_projectors#DMX )
Soundcard DAC is a DIY DAC that uses a modified USB soundcard to interface with the 25pin ILDA port on your laser. Only a couple of laser software programs work with it that I know of, Spaghetti and Laserboy, might be more out there. Yes you can adjust optics, very easy to calibrate, my laser was way off when I received it, tool 30 sec's to get the red centered on the Violet.
I would be interested to know if anyone managed to hook one of these units up to a better DAC? I have a PF213C (Supposed to be 30K) and with iShow it looks dreadful. Would like to find out if it is the galvos or the iShow DAC that is the major problem.

Hi djtuffer, I will let you know on this thread once I have tested with a soundcard DAC, i'm getting it made at the moment. I have a funny feeling that these aren't 30kpps as advertised because the built in demos look crappy nothing near 30k. I show DAC makes no difference unless the scan rate is near 40Kpps+ but of course the image looks distorted at that speed (same on spaghetti and ishow software using ishow dac)
Gary from spaghetti software has tested ishow DAC and says looks great on his 30kpps RGB projector but needs scanrate to run a little faster than 30k due to ishow DAC firmware and lack of documentation.
For anyone following this thread here is an example of a 30Kpps laser scanner. I'm not sure what DAC is being used to control the projector here but the PF-114 looks no where close to this speed (tested builtin examples/ishow DAC ishow/spaghetti ) ..
Yes, you can see the difference like day and night. especially on the very complex bird and rose animation
