Default Finally NEW KVANT 532nm modules developed!

    Hi all

After many disappointments with low power greens from many suppliers Kvant's technicians and developers jumped on it and here we go:

    New 532nm modules in 300mW and 600mW.

    300mW:

Center wavelength tolerance (nm): +/- 5
Beam size (FWHM, mm) (horizontal*vertical): 2.7
Beam divergence (half angle, horizont./vertical, mrad): 0.4
    Linear polarization: Y
    M2 (horizontal/vertical): 3
    Modulation freq.(kHz): 30
    Peak power consumption: 5V/5A
    Dimensions (LxWxH,mm): 87x60x45
Price: TBA but around 750-800 euro

    600mW:
    ..same as above, but:

    Linear polarization: M
    Peak power consumption: 12V/8A
    Dimensions (LxWxH,mm): 107x77x51
Price: TBA but around 1450-1550 euro

These modules are beautifully stable and running on 80% of diode power which guarantees looong lifespan.

Once we'll have prices nailed down we'll put them on the website for sale. We are also planning to introduce some RGB packs for self-builders so watch out.

Given that the beam has an m^2 of 3, is it possible to see a beam profile?

The high Mē also made me raise an eyebrow. Why is it so high?

Not sure what's wrong with M2 value being 3, but the beam is circular and diameter is 25mm on 30 metres distance, which I think is quite good
Prices are adequate to performance Andy.

Did you actually calculate the M-Squared or just do like most other lasershow companies and pull a number out of your ass? If you did calculate it, I would like to see some proof...

Well LB, I am not sure what do you pull out of your ass (and I definitely don't want to know), but what we specified is actually correct and if you feel any sort of enviousness, just ENJOY IT
I am just informing people here about new product and don't feel like having to proof anything, especially to someone who doesn't know how to ask politely.

    proof or a beam profile..

price is dependent on performance, and m^2 is a HUGE indicator of a laser's performance. CNI specs their high-powered system with an m^2 of <2. Laser-wave specs theirs at <1.2 (which I think is inaccurate, but hey....)

Also, if you intend to drum up sales, it might help to supply the requested proof of specs instead of "not feeling that you have to prove anything". That looks shady... Kvant might have a good reputation around here, but shady is shady. Shady never helps one's reputation.

I think what would be nice is an evaluation unit sent to either bart or tocket who can run some very extensive tests on the modulation response of the laser. A stable green is nice, but how well it holds up under modulation is the real question, in my opinion.

It's a very nice looking product!
