John;
For what it's worth, I've owned Mamba for several years, and I've never been able to get VST to work. Even after I upgraded to Mamba 1.92, I found that VST still crashed within minutes of launching it. When I upgraded to Pangolin's LD-2000 system, I discovered that they had a much-improved version of VST that was very polished and rock-solid stable. I haven't bothered with Mamba's VST since...
Recently, I had the opportunity to experiment with Dr Lava's new "LaserCam" software, and I have to say that it's much more user-friendly than Mamba's VST ever was. LaserCam doesn't need a capture card either; it works with a standard web-cam. True, it doesn't have all the features of Pangolin's VST, but at only $50, I didn't expect it to.
If you're still trying to do some live video tracing, I suggest you give Dr Lava's lasercam software a try. For sure it's way better than the VST engine that comes with Mamba...

Also, Andrew is a great guy who can help you get things set up and running right over the phone if you ever have problems.
