Default LivePro help! Beam chaser and midi settings

I'm trying to map my beam chases to midi keys in LiveProUSB v5.00.1979

Whilst I can map the chases ok, I don't seem to be able to find a way to map the [STOP] option from the Beam controller in the Live Control tab. So whilst I can currently start a beam chase via midi, I can't stop it. I'd also like to be able to have the beam chase play whilst the key is pressed, so I can punch them in and out on demand rather than having to start/stop or toggle them.

Is it the case that I have to assign a spare cue to activate the chase and use the cue properties to get the desired effect, or can I do it just using the beam settings in the Environment menu?

Actually, I think I've just answered my own question with some playing.

Rather than manipulate the beams directly in the Beam settings, its better to do it via a Cue.

Can anyone tell me how to disable midi keys globally? I only want the keyboard to work on the Beams page and nowhere else. I've currently set it up so that I don't get page switching when firing the beam chase cues, but I also get some cue triggering on the page I'm on as well.

Disabling page switching is done by unchecking the "switch page" butting just under the midi note assignment tab.

    Yeah, I've got that.
It's just that if I hit a key that hasn't been specifically assigned to one of my beam page cues when I'm on another page, it triggers a cue on the page I'm on, as it seems to have a default setting (e.g. cue 1 is activated by the start note set in the midi settings, unless I've specifically set it elsewhere)
I'd like to disable all midi note mapping UNLESS I've specifically set it for a cue using the learn function on the cue tab.
So at the moment, if I've got C0 to G0 mapped to beam, if I accidentally hit C1 it activates a cue on my current page by default. I'd like to switch this off as its very easy to do in the heat of the moment.
I guess I could just go through and map all keys to specific cues on the Beam page, even if they are currently unused, as a workaround.

If your actual buttons on the MIDI controller are programable, like on the Novation Remote Zero, you can disable them.

Live Pro cues only respond to MIDI Note signals, while the faders and pots respond to CC signals. So, if you reprogram the button to send out something other than a MIDI Note signal, it will disable that button.
