yes, another laserscope thread... hopefully this one will have less dahrma (TM)
this is going to be a worklog for my laserscope based projector, its going to be a long journey since it honestly wasn't part of my plan to ever do a laserscope projector, since quite frankly it scares the beejeezus out of me, but it just kind of fell on my lap at a price I couldn't say no to lol
it needs a new KTP and oven controller, the KTP thats in it is not in great shape, and its got a non-gold box oven controller which probably isnt working ideally
heres its current state - which I received it in...
optical deck, most of the medical optics have been removed, there was an extra shutter installed before the attenuator also...
powersupply for the lamp, and powersupply for the Q-Switch driver, the Q-Switch driver amp is going to change to another +24v psu I have from a low-power microwave SCATA data link
heres the cooling setup, I think all of this is from the original laserscope, going to be changing this obviously as part of the "grand plan"... mostly just a test jig...
close up... everything here is 240v... on those terminal strips - currently exposed(!)... thats obviously not going to stay like that
filter... a certain prodj told me this was supposed to be a milky green/brown color... for some reason mine is all clear? weird huh?
here it is fired up without the Q-Switch... cant remember the current I had it running at, but it was fairly low... this was probably 200~300mW of 532nm... have not measured actual output yet
heres with the Q-Switch on... probably making a few watts
uncollimated dot... you cant see it but its 4 individual dots (multimode)
so basically the plan is to make a beamtable with a set of XYZ scanners at the end also... while having multiple safety's (shutters/contactors/disconnects/flow switch/water temperature monitoring/interlocks on any panel where laser light could be visible/etc)
for the sake of size I am thinking of having a separate PSU/cooling/control unit, and then the projector itself with the laser/actuators/scanners etc
I am also not sure if I want to build the optical table on the existing optical table, or if I want to shoot them beam straight up from the laserscope optical table to a proper beam table (breadboard) on top of the laserscope table... I could have sworn I have seen a projector where somebody did this and of course I cant find it now lol
like I said in the beginning, this is probably going to be a long journey since honestly, I have no idea what the heck I would do with it when I am done! lol
even if I do eventually finish and variance it (which is the plan), this thing is so bright I couldn't imagine using it for any kind of indoor venue, nor do I see myself ever having any stadium shows, so I guess I will have the ultimate electrical tape slicer? LOL
feel free to comment/flame/share ideas etc...
