I saw today that there was a front page article about Bob Hess and his laser collection to be in display at CLEO this year. It was in the Mercury News. I will scan and put up a copy tonight.
Congrats Bob!

That's awesome! Congratulations BobH.. It's good to know that old Hughes that Mariomaster ran across found it's way into someone's hands that can appreciate it.
Thanks for posting it Ben. I wish he'd have focused more on the lasers than me, but what can you do? The photographer first had a composition with the beam going into my hand up near my face. I mentioned that the laser safety violations depicted by such a shot would be obvious, so he changed positions with me. But then, I had to worry about him getting the 65mW beam into his face or camera lens. That, and the SP-125 heater in the small closed garage full of smoke on a hot day made me a sweaty dog for the shots.
Cool article Bob.
laser safety violations, cool. In the privacy of our own garages.
Out of 3 dozen lasers, I'm sure he has a few that you wouldn't exactly want in your face ...
Hmmm, I wonder who that "college kid" could be?![]()
I said "student" because MarioMaster's certainly not a "kid"! I hope he isn't offended by the author's characterization.
