    Default lds pro questions

    hi
a couple of lds pro questions
1, raytrix web site mentions laser video, is it buried in the software somewhere
    i cant find it ?
2, is there any document on how to setup the live touch screen side of things ?
as i have looked and cant find anything,
i want to set it up with a selection of frames for live jamming,ie just touch the frame i want
and mess with the sliders, kind of like what you would do with an fb3 and quickshow
i tried loading one of the lds live shows too but the touch screen panels
dont show what the frame is just the default touch me screen
3, are there anymore rts /sfx files available for lds pro ?

    thanks

    Hi,
    1) the rastervideo playback can be done by adding the 'RasterFrame' block to the timeline. It grabs frames from the screen from a media player and rasterizes them. Look under scanner setting ScanParameter tab to adjust the ColorShift (For raster frames) and tweak this for your scanners till it looks the best.

    2) when you load the live shows for the first time, open the touchscreen panel and move it to the side. Hit play, make sure the preview screen is still open and then on the touchscreen panel hit 'create all bitmaps'. Many of the bitmaps will be created, for those that aren't click the button and when the preview reaches a view you like, press 'Screenshot Small' and on the touchscreen controller press 'copy bitmap from Clipboard'. When you are satified with the bitmaps on the buttons click 'save images' then save your .rtd show file. The next time you close and open realtime the bitmaps will be preloaded and ready to go. To create your own touchscreen effects, you must put the touchscreen control panel in edit mode by clicking 'edit keys' then when you click each button it will be editable.

    3) The rts effects are in the rts folder, there are about 100 of them and a few more are available no the laserfreak website.

The show has to be playing and the preview window open and viewable on the screen for it to capture the bitmaps automatically. If you can't figure that out it's no big loss because really the best way is to use the manual 'screenshot small' method described above for the button image, that way you can choose the point in time of the effect that is best representative for the button image.

If you can read german, think i have some tutorials.

You can also read the better manuals of phoenix pro.
Not all funktions are the same in LDS, but 95% is OK

If you could send the .img for these that would be great, I will include it in the distribution and also make one for 6.

I searched my emails just now for 'kl79' but did not see anything. Is there another way I can track it down, what is your ebay ID?

hi kl79 that would be cool if i can have the .img files
for live, do you know if there is any documents for the live (touch screen)and dmx control
as there is nothing in the manual ,and as a noob to lds cant seem to work it out
i did try dr lavas way with every thing open and viewable but i still could not get it to work
the create bitmaps button does say under constuction on it so might not work fully.

does anyone know what dmx equipment i need to buy to control the live section ?
and a rough guide to setup as there is no guide as to what dmx channels the sliders
    work on
many thanks for any help you can give

email for img files green 1666 @ blueyonder . co . uk

Ok, send me your email with PM, i will see what i find.

    First look here: http://download.phoenix-showcontroll...HOENIX-PRO.zip
    and here http://www.phoenix-showcontroller.de...ort/tutorials/
    Most are the same.

I think midi hardware is the better way for livecontrol.
With the Keybord fast select for section - faders/rotarys for additional Effekt.

But you can use also any dmx slider if you dac (easylase/Riya) has DMX Input onboard.
Additional USB-DMX Interfaces will not work.

Sorry for my crap english...i hope you understand what i mean.

Edit: you can also come with problems for lds @laserfreak.net http://www.laserfreak.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=18
Use the german forum!! Not all read in english section.
The most users can you help also in (broken)english. ;-)

Default Little Workaround midi for live in LDS

    Hi,

ok, i try a little workaround for midi change.
    Hope you understand me ;-)

1.) you must make some Eventlines under the complete Live-Show.
Rotate, Scale, Move, Colorchange etc. (img1)

2.) Edit this Event. You must specify the lowest and the highest desired Value. (img2)
    Carefully for Movements!

3.) Now you can select Pichweel, Variables and Midi-Notes. The Number is the selectet Channel. (img3+4)
Im not sure, what are the correct - "Var" or "Midi" for more Fader. I have not controller at time. But i think Var(xx) is ok.

4.) Set "type of animation" to expression.

5.) at last, you need a software midi-patcher (midiox or other)
This tool can patch your Fader to other midi channels (1-127).

    Hopefully I remember correctly

I think every (USB) midi hardware will work.
If you have problems, check first your midi settings in windows.

    hi christian

being a total noob to midi , i am having problems

i have a korg nano kontrol, if i just load a live show and play any panel
my korg does kind of work it as it is ,ie knob 1 and slider 9 control the x,y position
another slider will control rotation ect, this does the same to any live show i play.
but i can find nothing in the live shows that sets this up ,so where in lds is it getting this control information for my korg nano to have an effect on the show ?

i have also tried to do as you explained in this thread to do my own live show
i have midi ox ,and it reading my controller ok, but dont know how to patch it to the lds software
is there a setting page in lds i am missing ?
setting up a controller in pangolin quick show i easy as it has a learn function
shame lds does not life would be easier
what i want to do is for example is setup my controller so slider 1&2 control x&y size,
slider 3&4 control x&y position, slider 5 control speed ect ect.
would setting up a dmx controller be any easier ?
    hope you can help

    regards
    chris

You must look in midiox what your Hardwareslider is.
Example:´in midiox this sliderchannel you can patch from 1 to 127.
In LDS select this channel from midiox. The Number you must self insert.
Check in windows the system midimapper - midi-input must your device or midiox.

Ahh, and i forgot - you must set the Typ od Animation to Expression!
And for Speedchange -Timecode source must be "Live"

It is for a long time ago that I used lds for it.

Here is a litle example file, but no midi (have no controller at time)
have switch the expression to slider 2 - (make DMX input off!)
For midi control try also var(127). Remember me, this is better for sliders...i think ?!?

If you will take the effekt only to selected Frame-Timeline, you can go to properties and make a choice.

For channel mapping in midiox look here: http://organs.110mb.com/MIDI-OX.htm
