Default A couple of Pango shows for your viewing pleasure

Just thought you might want a bit of laser porn to help you through the week

For all you new guys on the forum, this is one of many reasons why the Pangolin QM2000 System is worth every penny, these are just a small selection of the shows come free with it...

    Enjoy!!!!

Unfortunately I will only be there for the Friday and possibly the Sunday if I am awake... I have a big show on the Saturday (all nighter)... If I don't turn up at least one day, Rob will kill me

Look forward to catching up, been a while now...

    Hey Mark,
Nice vids- they look great! Hey, you mind me asking what camera & settings you used? My Canon elph just hasn't been cutting it lately.
    Thanks, Mike

    Very nice Mark.

Just a question, what power levels were you running for the video?

Some of the fans looked a little bit weaker in colour than I was expecting from such a heavy weight projector so I'm guessing you had the power turned down to save the camera. Was just wondering at what level?
They say video games are bad for kids but if Pacman had affected us we'd all be running around in dark
rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

Hey Mike, filmed it with a Panasonic TZ4 with its default settings, so nothing fancy

The laser was running full power around 2 watts, hence the fact I was not in front of it

Just goes to show, you can never trust a camera to give an accurate representation of laser power... Added to the fact that I had a window open which was letting most of the fog out of the room, had to keep adding more fog which is not ideal. You really want the fog to settle into to a fine mist, but by the time it got to that stage it was out the window...

Looks like the camera just wasn't quite sensitive enough.

BTW sure you already know this, but I had great success at home with a fan behind the laser / smoke machine but blowing across a couple of feet behind it and parallel to the rear of the projector rather than over it.

I found I got an ultra fine even mist with this technique as you can see in the smooth fans I got from the Laserworld projector I had in my damo video. Made a very average low power projector look quite good.

I've tried to capture a still here but it doesn't do the eveness of the particles justice:

I have LD2000, but I don't remember those 2 shows. I don't have music for all the included shows yet. I just wondered what the names of the shows were so I could find the music.

    Hey Phredy,

There are actually 4 shows spread over two videos there... The shows in order are:

    Gravity
    Gradient Moby
    Slience
    Paradise

@ Whitelight, I just took these videos for a bit of fun after I had cleaned the laser from a previous gig and realligned everything, So I only used my little crappy smoke machine...

    P1010666.JPG

When I am giggging I use its big brother and then I do go to the trouble of using fans to direct the smoke...

    P1010667.JPG

But if I use that at home, I would A) Probably die and B) Get in a lot of trouble with the Fire Brigade after instilling panic in my neighbours (I live in a ground floor flat)

But yes a fan is a good way to even out the fog. Usually at gigs we have a hazer running and the fog machine. Normally you wouldn't expect to need both in an indoor venue, but with the smoking ban, venues now have outside smoking areas and this means that somewhere in the venue there is an open door and guess where all the smoke and haze ends up?

I actually got my most regular venue to relocate the smoking area for better retention of the haze...

One thing your camera does show very well is the colours. Very pretty, and bright enough to be good on the camera. No pixelation or noise either.

Although, just a tip, try recording your shows like that, but get the original audio file and stick it over the top of the video clip. That way you don't get the background noise and muffled sound from recording with a camera.

    Thanks
