    Default Theme Testing

I set the theme as default for everyone who has not expressed a preference. This is temporary.

If your eyes are bleeding please go to the bottom left of the board and select "default"

If your eyes aren't bleeding... Tell me what needs to change or get altered to make it suck less.

As it stands right now, it is pretty loud.

    Ouch !!

Maybe it's just me that doesn't like too much change, but i've sent mine back to default.

Much easier on the eyes, Sorry...

It doesn't work very well for me... white text on white background is too hard to read!

Colour is good. But in needs to be subtle.

Gentle pastel shades with black text is best.

Far too busy - keep it clean and easy to read. Forum software already has too many bells and whistels without additional distractions imo

Thank God, when I saw the initial splash screen I thought PL had been hacked by the evil 4ch@n bunch. I can't see the white on tan without glasses.

Is this a copy of recent Obama redo of the Oval Office to shades of Camel and Brown, instead of the traditional Presidential Prussian Blue and White? At least the AP called it Camel, being a straight male I have no idea what Camel means...

I do like the right hand scroll bar.

light grey as a background would be easier to deal with with slow connections

personally, I had to wait a bit of time for the background to load

otherwise I like those greyed buttons and panels

    Cool

Anti-aliasing around all the smileys in the edit window looks completely borked with the new layout. (figures though; it was optimized for a light background, not the dark grey color of the editor background.

I dislike change, so I'm a poor judge of new skins/themes, but even so, I agree that white text on a colored background is hard to read.

Trying to read text that scrolls past a stationary complex background is a big distraction for me. Waaaaaaay too busy! What's the reason for making a change?

try reducing saturation, contrast, and hitting it with some gaussian blur.

I prefer a design as simple as possible. Usability is more important than fanciness. Information over eye candy. Black text on white or light pastel background is unrivalled. I visit fora to learn and exchange ideas, not to get an art experience. Then I´d rather watch lasers.

While I love the idea of a new theme, the black/grey one needs a lot of work, and I have to assume the orange one was to make us try the black one The black one has potential, but the icons really need to be toned down, and the ani aliasing needs to be fixed.

Ohh man. Wait until April first.

You think lasers are an eye hazard... MUHAHAHAHAHAaa1!1!!1!eleven.

All crap aside: I was trying to work on this place and I saw a theme that didn't look retarded so I picked it up. I was wrong.

Many of the mantis shrimp have 12 cones for hyperspectral vision.

    They are certainly very cool.

I first heard about them when someone told me about their "strike" which carries an insane amount of force with it.

Theres another type of these in the same family that don't have the "hammer" thing... They have spears. If I remember correctly they are not nearly as pretty as the peacock variety.

But yea, their eyes are absolutely amazing.

And as wild as the colors can get... Nothing comes close to a green mandarin.

Was at a fish store that had one under a very uv heavy actinic light... It was surreal.

Wow, what a great mascot for PL!
    Thanks for sharing.

    hyperspectral and polarization state, wow.

Too bad they don't talk, I could use a hyperspectral ellipsometer.
