Jon, tell us more about the other place you found!

Well, it's open either weekend, 1/21 - 23 or 28 > 30th, any-day, but we would need to 'book' the place, asap, to 'guarantee' any thing... I used the 'fine art of diplomacy' to get them to waive the Deposit, so, if we all-decide on a date and give them a 100%-go, even if verbal... we can arrange to meet, there and go-over all details of what we want (do we want use of the kitchen area; do we need 3Ø and water or no, etc) -

I do have a bunch of inside-pix on my iPhone, but have been re-building my mac, and iPhoto is not all put back-together yet - asap, I'll get those posted, here...

So, Krew - what sayeth everyone on the Dates? lemme know....

Do you know the size of this place?

Holds ~300 comfortably... + kitchen / dining / lobby-area... place is MORE than big-enough... Ceilings are 'kinda low', like ~15', but 'good-enough', IMO....
I will try to get these pix off my iPhone, ASAP...

Two thoughts: 1. Won't need any 'deposit' to-Book.. 2. If we don't use 3Ø / water, they'll drop the price... Prolly to ~$700. / nite... Oh, and yes, they'll let us in on Fri for 'set-up' for *free*... still need to find-out a Price on a Sat/Sun-nite Combo, bcause...

...don't think Van Nuys will be 'ready for prime-time', by-then... LOTS of clean-up work to-do, yet, and I've got LOTS of projects on the stove, so, don't wanna make any 'promises I can't keep', re: the place...

IF, somehow, I could 'whip the place into shape', it essentially would be 'per-donation' to help cover some of the costs for the 3Ø, I wouldn't really care about the 110... So, certainly the 'cheapest', but there's a lot of clean-up work, still, to make proper-space... We'd also need someone to 'donate' some sound-equip - some speakers got sold, recently, to make-up for cash-flow issues...

Anyhoo... just some food fer thought...

Depends - how many Kats wanna run Ions? Whether or not I decide to drag all the Laserium-gear out for the LEM depends-on whether we can all 'afford' one nite or two... which, will mostly-be determined by how many 'paying-definites' we end-up with...

I *might* be able to see if we can get two nites (and by that, I mean Fri, Sat & Sun, cause again, they'll give us one 'day' for 'set-up'...) at $600. / nite, including 3Ø, but we'll see...

So, I'll post-pix, so peeps can get a 'feel' for this place, ASAP... *still* restoring my workstation from B/Us etc... directory-failures are a BIOTCH...

Here's the 'Lotus Hall' - again, not necessarily the *greatest* place in So Cal, but a) relatively-cheap, b) no Deposit, c) 'free' set-up time, d) lots of 'ancillary space' (kitch / lobby, etc) e) 3Ø / water if need-be (only +$100. / nite if we do), f) available for a F-S-S run, g) *killer* sound system, h) cool 'history' (used to be 'Captain & Tennilles' Recording Studio - lots of great artists have recorded there, ie: Tom Petty, KISS, GnR, etc, etc, etc..

I think we need to make a decision on a 'locale', and start a new thread - SoCaLEM SIGN UP... where we can track defines and Paids.... I can try and do later tonite... gotta werk...
