Tjee i didn,t expect that it was so hard to do something nice for a change.

Just a lotery with a maximum of 3 tickets will be best in my opinion, plain and simple. Then it doesn,t matter if you are rich or poor so everyone has the same chance of winning the Blue laser. Altough its seems attractive to have a chance of buying multiple tickets i prefer that everyone has sort of the same chance.

Please badger, if you can organise this that will be great!!!

Its impossible to make everyone happy. Its like building a quad, some say you need a telescope others say you don,t need it. All in all its just a matter of personal choice.

For anyone who is want to buy a ticket please just do so when the lotery start. For people who want to make a donation to support Pl thats alway apriciated too.

LOL, I know most people mean well, however a lottery by committee simply raises too many decisions, discussion and deliberation.

When all is said and done, more is said than done...

It's easy people, no "laser reward needed", simply subscribe or donate NOW.

and will take no tickets
i am out most of tomorrow and will set the lotto in motion
as soon as i return should be up and running by around 20:00 gmt
and will go with edisons idea of 3 tickets

All due-respect, I think you may-be a little bit 'confused' - YOU ARE a member of PL - as was pointed out, once you sign-up / fill-out a profile / submit to Spec / he approves / you're up - you ARE a Member. You may be getting 'confused' with those that have 'subscriptions', which, in-reality, confers NO MORE 'rights' to them, than anyone else... there are 'subscribers' (the blue-bolded names) here, that rarely-ever post, and, thus might 'seem' to have little 'position' on the boards.. then-again, there are those who have not yet subscribed, and they are quite-valued members and contributors (ie: ever benefited from mixedgas' treasure-troves of experience / knowledge?? NEITHER of those 'categories' of PL-member will have ANY 'advantage' over the other, in this 'raffle'. Both ARE EQUAL. Both have the chance to buy up-to 3 tix... And, contained in-both cats, ARE both hobbiests and 'pros', alike...

However, participation in this effort *should* be limited to those that, as Chris and Jerry suggested, have been 'ACTIVE' members for at least 30 days (good call) to prevent anyone, 'invisibly lurking' as a "Guest" (un-registered visitor / non-member) can't just sign-up, and pop 3-tix in the bin... they should at least be 'contributing members', whether 'subscribers' or not...

Respect to everyone helping and please only see my point and the greater intentions only to help not to mar any person.

We're all sure your intentions are good, but I think you're just not seeing things, correctly, in-terms of 'who has better odds' in this - WE ALL DO (if 30-day + members) ... if you can't 'afford to participate' - then you can't afford to participate! Any member can send Admin $1. or $2. or $5. or $50. or $110. - whenever they want! So, if you can't participate in this - OK, no one will 'judge' you for that, if you do - or if you don't... Again, it's all about giving to Admin, so, 'where's the fire' man?

People can 'set their own odds', from 1x to 3x...your solution is simple and nothing to cause offense, like as-if you did it based on 'post count' or something... and the 3-tix idea is probably better, cause...

What are the odds of selling 150 tickets in a reasonable amount of time if it's only one entry per person?
