Got this new projector in today and did a tear down on it.
So here is the block. It is one of the new style blocks from Nichia but it has diodes with regular cans not the stupid lens can that is set for a flashlight output.
Got in there and there were only 7 diodes in them. I am guessing they are like the ones in the other arrays with just a different can which means slightly more powerful than the NDB7A75 and a little higher wavelength.
Quick power test @ 4.5A with a G-2 lens. Maxes out my LPM which can not read over 6.8W so not sure how much more it is doing.
So the price makes them a bit more expensive as you are getting less diodes for more than the blocks we can get direct now but they have a traditional can on them which helps protect the diode. Still need to have one sent out to get wavelength tested but interesting to see these being incorporated into projectors.
