I've had similar issues from my Macbook running Safari.. I don't suppose iPad uses Safari as it's default browser ?

    Cheers,

    Nige.

I suppose this could explain it..

Probably a vBulletin issue, I'm sure it will be resolved soon.

I have the same problem posting from my iPhone. Trouble started immediately after the update. Admin is aware of it. I hope it is fixed soon.

I had to revert the hack I had in place to fix the issue when the most recent update to the core vbulletin software happened(about 2 hours ago) so with any luck it will no longer be an issue. Feel free to test and verify. I don't have an ipad to verify against.

    Thanks spec!

Thanks for looking after us annoying iOS brats

Also, is it just me not having a settings right or do other people not have the smilies on the right hand side anymore?

They seemed to go missing about the same time as the (no spaces/return) problem.

I enabled quick reply without click as a work around - best I can figure is that the mobile platforms see the ajax hit as a prompt to pop open a separate iframe for the editor.

If this doesn't fix it... I will remove the quick reply entirely.

Also: try the "go advanced" button and see if the smilies come back... if not, well, I would classify that as forced incentive through inaction on their part to sell the mobile suite.

Fantastic. It refuses to parse ajax.

What does the "quick editor" pre "go advanced" look like?

    Same trash on Android also.

It's not a bug, it's a feature based solely on the fact that it's documented to be a bandwidth saving feature. IE: No administrative or user toggle has been enabled.

Heres what my money would be betting on: The toggle is complicated/riddled with issues for "full" browsers so they just closed the bug^H^H^Hfeature.

If you toggle your javascript options in the safari settings it *may or may not* appear when/if it wants to/feels like it/ the moon is in phase with BBC's Channel 4 uplink satellite in flat 6a on the outskirts of west Coventry.

I gave that a go but no luck. Never mind. I can still do simple replies on the go though.

    Thanks

    Hi Spec,
    Have you updated something?

The quick reply has more options now!
    woohoo!

Also when you click go advanced it shows the smilies on the rhs properly.

    Nice work!

I'll jump on my notebook and upload a couple of screen grabs from my iPad.

    Thanks mate.

    Hey guys,
I had a similar thing a couple of weeks ago.
It wasn't as bad though, it was just a row of smileys at the top of the page. It was the same pitch as this icon in Bart's screen shot but only one row.

It only happened once and went away.

Maybe it might give you a clue to figure out what is going on.

    Good luck.

Ok, that icon is supposed to be shown where the laserfaq link is and the open book one is the micro thumbnail for the "Forum is a category" - The templating here references them correctly so I am going to go under the assumption that safari shit the bed.

Please wipe out your browsing cache and give it a go. If you are still having issues, let me know.
