Can I propose grouping the packages by geographic area to save you postage and hassle? E.g. You could send mine to Dave with his and I could just pick 'em up from him?

Also given the quantity I've ordered, I'd be happy to pay for an insured postal service.
That's great. So I'll send 30 pcs to Dave. USPS offers insurance for a few dollars more. We're not locked into USPS. I've had good luck with them and UPS international. UPS seems to get through customs faster but costs more.

Paypal is best for me. I just checked and they charge 1% for international transfers that don't require currency conversion. I thought personal transfer was free. Apparently only for domestic transfers

Lets hold off on payments until the lenses are in my hand.

I think USPS is fine. Most USPS packages I received without issue. Only one got lost for a while in transit. It turned up eventually. Oh, then there was the other that went via Russia (wrong hemisphere completely!), but that turned up in surprisingly good condition!

Hey Woody, nice going. I'll take the 25, when ever you're ready just PM me the final payment details.

    Thanks!

I usually like to experiment instead of asking a bunch of questions but do you guys think this setup would fit 5mm mirrors on my scanners? Using 4 826 LDs with optima lenses knifedged like llll with drlava c-lenses.

    thanks

If you stack them the cheapest way to get a good beam is as a package of 4 like this the picture below. With a PBS and waveplate you will get half the size because the pbs will combine the 2 pairs of beams into 1 with the help of the waveplate. The PBS will only combine when 1 of the 2 beams is different polarized. This can also be done by turning 1 of the 2 pairs of beams.

Thanks for the info Edison. So corrective optics wouldnt squeeze the four llll beams together enough. Came up with this design where beam B is knifed over beam A, think that will work to stack beams?

wow! you could keep it simpler and use only 2 mirrors, a pbs and a waveplate to make this

search a bit for quad red designs here.

one very quick search came up with this recent post http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...light=quad+red

and i wish i could find my own pics.. no time to upload new ones now, sorry. but this proves to be the least hustle - best beam design

I see how that would be simpler, but I already have a quad mount from Andy and a pbs/waveplate seem costly.

Optimas are hear. Unfortunately they are not in pill capsules this time. Shouldn't be a problem to cut the plastic tray.

I will PM everyone here shortly with the totals.

Excellent! That was quick and just in time, I just orderd a shit load of barrels for these from Dave.

Ahh.. What's with the danger sign, they got a beam stuck in the lens or what?

I'm paranoid of lawyers. Don't want to get sued if someone missuses the lenses.

No, just kidding. The lenses are sitting on top of a projector. I am scared of lawyers though

I'm very much looking forward to getting these Optima lenses. In the meantime, I wondered if anyone here could answer my query about these lenses' perfomance with the Opnext 170mW diode in the following post...

    http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...ptima-4mm-lens

    I hope you can help
