Default Ladies and gentleman my first Kvant

    Hi guys,

first of all I want to thank Steve Milani for his advices about lasers and Martin Pelikan for his service, then all of you, Photonlexicon is the abc for a laserist.

I tested the beam only for few minutes with Fiesta.Net software. I purchased the Fiesta.Net dac, now it works great with LSX too!!!

This Kvant laser has 1.6W of power. Is a block of heavy aluminum, very solid, I like its design, minimal...
It's a engineering work. The electrical layout is clean.

The projector is equipped by a CT-6215HP scanner.

In the next days I will post some videos.

    Wink

    Kvants make me moist.

No mention of price but I'll wager it costs more than an entire years worth of my pocket money.

    Looks spiffing !!

I suppose they have been made in Kvant factory, while colour alignment tests were running....
This means once more good point for Kvant products.

Still in-process, as of this Date, afaik... I believe G&K Photonics here in CA, are working on projector-Certification, but not sure if they are working to be dealers for all the US, for all models, or just for their own useage...

    Stay tuned!

    Another spectrum owner.

    Great projector.

I see it has a combined Red / Blue module.

As I understand it, not yet but Kvant are working on FDA certification.

Edit: Missed Jon's post above, lol.

    this is the projector:

    http://www.synchrovision.co.uk/produ...canners-50kpps

    642....

I think these are the possible R+B modules:

    http://www.synchrovision.co.uk/642nm...al-r-b-modules

But the projector related web page says: R=300mW G=300mW B=1000mW

I don't see any R300+B1000...is it custom made?

Only an expert like you can say it...

I'm no expert. There's people on here a lot more expert than me. But thanks anyway.

I saw the 2 at Selem.. They were pretty amazing. I just sent a price request to the site posted above. I am curious what the actual price is on these bad boys. I cant seem to find them listed on any USA resellers sites.

I'm going to guess at around $9,000 with CT's.

They are an excellent projector Gabriel. Build quality is 1st class.

Only bad thing is they're blue heavy but that's easily adjusted out in the software. So you can either have a blue heavy 1.6W or a 1:1:1 balanced 900mw. Just depends on which you value most, deep purples and pinks or a more luminous range of lighter colours.

yea.. i am guessing around 9000 also.

If these were around ~5000 USD then I would possibly bite. But I know that aint gonna happen.

In fact I have to adjust the output.

On Fiesta to have a good color calibration I have to lower the brightness to 50%, without this adjustment the color passages aren't smooth but rough.

It's difficult for example create a low level of white (gray)...I see the red over a thin white line

How many step of brightness has a laser? 256?

Many people on here report a good white balance with a 1:1:1 ratio of 532:642:445.

Try adjusting to this ration ie 300mw of each.

As for the red over a thin white line, sounds more as if the alignment might be a little out.

what did you mean by turn the brightness down 50% ? just the blue down 50%
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

I suspect that the red fringe is due to the distance you are projecting at (quite close range)

If you extend the range, you'll probably find the green and blue will diverge faster than the red and they'll be comparable beam sizes. I see a similar 'fat' red with my Kvant 637, but it all evens out at 'show' ranges.

BTW, what do you think of the Fiesta.NET? I'd love to hear an objective review, without all the usual stuff that goes on when anyone suggests an alternative to Pangolin
You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
