Looks like you made the right choice Borg, the tide has turned against the K1 with a few peeps reporting problems:

Certainly the Unique's I've seen have been very good, its what I would buy.

Just thought I'd point out that I'm fairly sure that the Unique and the Tourhazer have the same internal gubbinz that do the work. However, I prefer the tour hazer because of it's nice flightcase shell.

Be aware though that when they go wrong, both are a bugger to get parts for!
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

Wookieboy i'm pretty sure they dont have the same internal gubbinz .
in fact the tour hazer claimed to have a 1 minute warmup time and i figured on mine it was hazing right away (without waiting)

Anyway about something going wrong and parts.. That's why I suggest to buy from a dealer instead of the net.
We dealers have more direct contact with a manufacturer and can get the parts you want, to fix your problem.. or figure out what part needs to be replaced.
but I agree, i've seen the tour hazer and the unique, both are great but I also prefer the tour hazer.
Despite being bigger the flightcase really does it in term's of being great to transport and it's great that you can adjust the nozzle so you can haze more directional.

how is this possible? does it have some turbo heating spirals that it can produce haze without warmup? because you need at least some heat to disperse the liquid into air

I can't fault the flight case but as for the nozzle, Unique do one as an accessory for 30 Euro.

TBH the Tour looks really nice, the deciding factor for me would be the price. I guess it comes down to how much you need the flight case.

Yeah there's nothing about the Tour Hazer but Unique and Hazebase machines are the same:

Also, a good place for spare parts as you can order directly by the look of things.

I bought this case with the unique:

its a smaller and lighter combination compared to the hazebase, and I din't like the idea the bottle is lying down (more chance of leaking)

    Nice case Maurice.

Just to cross reference this thread for the OP, I bought the Unique myself in the end.

Froggy's is just up the road from me. We use all of their snow and frog fluid exclusively. Works very well.

Backwoods Bay is the fluid from them that we use.
