Yep, more like 2mm.. Should be here mid January.. Test results from Sir P1t8ull show a beam of 2mm x 4mm at ~1.1mrad with the Lava lenses So a quad should be achievable... Now we are starting to get to nice power levels

From what I understand it was an eBay listing that had like 5 and they are all gone. I still have an estimate of next month for more. Cross your fingers.

Also note the most important thing i found was getting the beam without correction optics horizontal and as thin as a line as possible at 55ft. Then second have it be perfectly 90 deg to the correction optics.
I will be building better mounts and i do think a 1.1 mrad at 4mm beam is very possible.

Nice vid, K. Yes interested. Is that a G71 or P73 diode?

yes, what is the max power with 1 diode you get now ?

I may be misreading this, but are you saying you have the beam horizontal as it enters the correction optics?

I thought that the fast axis was the thin axis in the nearfield, and so you'd want the stripe vertical as it went into the optics, and this would then spread out in the horizontal in the farfield.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

I think he must have meant to say perpendicular based on the line being horizontlal at 50'

Here's a setup with some LPM test videos included with a couple different lenses.

    Its quite the nice flashlight.

    This is the 300mw.
    Some good news.
So far with hours of tweeking i have gotten it down to 1.133Mrad.
And as far as the beam goes when i said horizontal i meant far field with no correction optics, to focus the collimating lens to be the thinnest horizontal line.

Also i tested with a larger FL lens and got a very interesting result.
    6.5mm at 0ft and 16.08mm at 56ft
for a total of 0.5612579088199896 Mrad
The beams far feild pattern is more square but with it being so large i dont think anyone would want this.
it seems the larger FL i go the smaller the divergence is.
Now from what i was told this is normal.
So now its coming down to how large of a beam do we want?
I think these diodes are perfectly usable. if you want to do super thin linge graphics your SOL but if you want to do beam shows or get larger scanner mirrors these are amazing.

1.1W CW out of a single diode without breaking a sweat. Nice.

Looks like these P73's can be driven hard just like the A140 diodes. I'm curious how these would work out with corrective optics in a projector module... Saves a lot of hassle of knife edging / PBS'ing multiple diodes together if you can just use one for <1W power levels.
