Yeah i had made a submerged cutter to it was totally under water.
It worked very well.
I could cut the costs of the GB but i dont want to cut 100 freaking lenses.
It could bring the price 12.5 for the big lens and 7.5 for the smaller one. thus correction optics for 20$
Like you said is was not that hard when you did it so other could follow suit the disks are cheap and you can build a simple rig with water flowing but i went a bit more.
I thought about doing it but if the disk where to break it could send fragments onto the lens and damage it and then i would have to pay that person for their lens i broke try to cut it like they wanted.
So i leave it up to them to do it.
Its seems that the lens from Dave works well. Some people that where at the UKlem have seen the setup from dilbert and when swapping the 405g2,s for the ones from Dave that made a huge difference. So why not go with the ones from dave and just let him earn a few bucks? I think dave earned a little bit of apriciation by finding a good lens that works with the mistubishi diodes. So what if he makes a few bucks , he will probably invest it in something interesting that we all could use / want to have to improve our laser equipment.
Think investing guys instead of trying to get things as cheap as possible. Just my 2 cents...

if you read my posts i mentioned i did not want to get the diode lenses made and even in my GB thead i said that daves lenses would work
i have a message to dave and we might work something out so people wo partake in the gb can have all their optics shipped together and fast.
this was stated a few posts ago. on mobile atm so im slowed down atm
Cool that would help you and Dave so that is great!! 40 usd isn,t that much and maybe dave is willing to do a small price drop when 50 or 100 pieces are ordered in a groupbuy.

Another Techno wonder from Terrawatt Labs- Laser Diode mount with adjustable lens
Well…I have been working on a new design Laser Diode mount with an adjustable lens arrangement. This design will work very well with Dave's 2mm fL Collimation lenses… as the very small focal length demands precise X-Y placement of the lens relative to the G71 diode axis. I placed this info here…because this thread has become the general catch-all for anything related to the G71…especially optics.
Please see the attached pics and drawing. B4 you question the over the top nature of this design….yes…I agree it MAY be a bit OTT…but humor me….I want to do the best possible job at taming this diode…I think we have FINALLY arrived at the optimal optical lens selection….I want to achieve optimal alignment with minimal aberrations…with the LEAST time/work. If you share the same perspective…..you will see the value in this design…which basically keeps the LD position constant…but provides adjustability for the collimation lens.
To start…there is a cylinder within a Brass Main block. The main block was machined from 1 ˝” square (38.1mm) Brass bar stock. The cylinder is a modified Axiz Copper Module with the G71 pressed in. I prefer the pressed in design because….the first contact with the LD is a very tight fit…providing the best thermal transfer between the diode and its host. The cylinder was chosen because we need to have the ability to rotate the LD/Copper host to correctly orientate the LD slow axis for the optics correction. Of course…the interface between the Axiz module cylinder and the Brass Main block will have an extremely thin application of OCZ Freeze Thermal paste. After the slow axis position has been set…the cylinder module is then clamped with 6-32 set screws ( S1 and S2 )
Next…the main feature of this design…the ability to adjust the X-Y position of the collimation lens. The pics show a 405-G2 lens. I have the LSP 2mm collimation units on order. The lens is screwed into a brass disc with a M9 threaded bore. This position disc sits in a recessed pocket with a 25.4mm ID bore. The disc is held within the pocket by an acrylic capture plate. This plate is secured to the main block with four (4) 4-40 bolts (C,D E & F). The thickness of the position disc and the recess pocket must be equal to allow the disc to move in the X/Y…but not the Z direction. Two (2) very small springs are placed in the gap between the disc OD and recess pocket ID. These springs ( 3/16” dia.) apply pressure toward the positioning Bolt A and Bolt B. So…by adjusting the A and B bolt….the position of the disc….and the collimation lens axis…can be aligned to the LD axis.
So…there you have it…Another techno wonder…from Terrawatt Labs. This unit does take some time to machine. I may sell these. PM me if you are interested. Thanx for reading all this blah, blah !
BEAM
Note: Some pics are of the finished build and some pics are as the build progresses.
Beam Axiom #1 ~The Quantum well is DEEP ! Photons for ALL !!
.
Beam Axiom #2 ~Yes...As a matter of fact...I DO wear tinfoil on my head !!
.
Beam Axiom #3 ~Whe'n dout...Po ah Donk awn et !!
.
Beam Axiom #4 ~A Chicken in every Pot, and a Laser Lumia in every Livingroom !!
.
Beam Axiom #5 ~"Abstract Photonic Expressionism"....is "Abstractonimical" !!
.
Beam Axiom #6 ~ "A Posse ad Essea" ~ From being possible to being actual ...is the beam target !
i cant wait, im almost so excited to see your setup im thinking of giving you half of my correction optics.
Well i cut them in half, so i do have spare 6x setup.
It might be over the top but maybe with that we can get the perfect beam.
Now all you need to do is make 50 more for the GB lol.
If it finds we do need these i would love to work together again and get these made via a shop and sell them.
I have a few things coming down the pipe.
BTW did you get a lathe? or did you do all that on your mill?
