Default SF Bay area meet in January 2012

How many can we get for an SF bay based meet? I will provide the location. My warehouse in Oakland, CA. I have a great space to host in with 30' ceiling and about 200' long by 30' wide. I can provide chilled water and 240v 3phase, and 208v. I will see about putting up a spinning planetarium projector base if anyone want to put a laser for a "spin" I have a coherent pure star, plus a few cheap china toys to get things kick off. I also have an mdg hazer. I am new to the forums but a long time laser nut.

No cost , no need to msg me for tickets but is nice if you RSVP so I can get an idea of how many will show up.

    January 13-15th Oakland, CA

You can attempt to sleep on the floor if you like. I have limited gated parking, lots of parking on the street. Have BBQ Grill and a few food options near.

I'd probably show up if there's enough interest. I have friends in Oakland, and January/February are months during which I enjoy the Bay Area. :-)

I am so in! This just might motivate me to finish my projector!

Also, I got some sound that I can contribute to the cause. 2 JBL Dual 15"s and 2 other 15"+tweater cabs I picked up for free.

I am all in! (..pending werk - I'm slated (hopefully) to be heading down to Aussielandia, prolly right around then.. we'll hafta see...)

...If you want, we could 'mash-up' your Coherent Purelight with one of our Laserium-projectors, and see what happens?? ...You know, kinda like what they did with 'peanut butter and chocolate'... 'Hey!! you got your pcaom-waste all-up in my lumia-section, man!!!'

    Officially staying-tuned...

Congrats on the copper purchase.... I too eyed that for awhile, but have enough projects to keep me busy for now. Please post some pics when you get it fired up! Looks like you got a pretty sweet deal.

I'm interested. Not a lot of laser show stuff left here other than the old 2.5W RGB. I could bring a LaserScope or 2. Might be able to convince a friend to bring one of his 20W projectors we built around 8W 577nm Taipan...

Started to drag out my coherent tonight and look around for spare 4wire 6awg to make it from the power box to psu. Looks like I have to run to the city and grab another 3 phase breaker all are in use here. Will grab some extra 100amp blow type fuses for the main feed to box, as I have 50amps of 3phase load now with servers here in the warehouse. Add to that the load of the coherent and I should be near 100amps! Come January I will have reduced the load here a good 40amps. So we will have the power for two big ion lasers....Good times.

Thanks to "Vidal Wolf" for giving me a boot in the ass by wanting to bring his laser over for testing so the time line is moving right along for a larger photon exchange in January 2012, Thinking January 14-16th.

Just a bump as a reminder, I went around and put up about 8 bounce mirrors, still clearing out years of crap to make as much room as I can in the long hall.

Yes could use some help putting up some scrim. But I won't be doing that till end of the month-ish also have a large speaker system here that I need to make cables for.

I have a manual mill/lathe if anyone wants to mod any parts or make up some small brackets. I am limited by the bits I have. My tooling was sold with the project I had the mill for so best to bring your own bits. Have welder and plasma cutter should you need to use.

Weekend of January 13th to 15th....AKA Friday to Sunday. And not Saturday to Monday as I had listed in the first post...oops. We have a few options for pizza and other food all in a 2 block easy walk. I can loan you a sidearm if you dont have your own, this is Oakland.

    Items people should bring.

LASERS, extension cords, ilda cables, music, warm clothes, If your camping here...sleeping bag, towel.

I kid about needing a firearm guys. It's not a bad location and I have a fully fenced yard for parking. For those taking BART, I or someone can pick you up from the MacArthur bart station its about 10 blocks away.
