    Default Texlem foody thread

So Far we have a tentitive offer of Chili by Greg (Displaser)
And Smoked BBQ by Hak's PitMeisters-Pintos and dirty rice
We are thinking of a brunch rather than breakfast and lunch
    Pancakes-breakfast taco bar.

    Rough Menue:
    Fri nite Chili and more
white rice- cheddar chez- chopped onions- soft and hard tortillas/shells
    deserts
Sat brunch breakfast taco bar and big pot of soup
fresh fruit-hot coffee and cold milk=cereals- and more

    Sat nite BBQ and sides
    Ice chest baked potatoes-
    Dirty Rice-deserts

    Sun breakfast Pancakes and more
if we have the funds-sausage patties and bacon(UMMMM BACON!)

in Jan. a list will go up for those willng to bring the extras needed and sidedishes.
SOME of the TEXLEM $$ may go towards the food,
however the balance of that will come from donations made into the 'TipJar'. give what you can please.

please post suggestions and offers in this thread
thanks Hak and the foody crew

If all my plans don't go away (that time period is filling up, with work fun) I wouldn't mind helping with some more veggie options for the taco bar and maybe a few sides.

I will bring $$, BBQ Sauce, Tortillas...There is an HEB grocery store right down the street if open (Love Google Streetview). Should be no problem grabbing additional items.

I can bring a bag of roasted hatch green chilies for the chili (frozen). I may even bring a few bhut jolokia peppers I have a few frozen and a few dried. Other than that HEB is down the road we can make a trip to get what is missing.

    Funny you mention hot peppers....

I always prided myself on being able to eat hot foods, right up there with the best of 'em. Last week my girlfriend and I went to one of our favorite Thai restaurants and feeling adventurous, decided to order our meal "Thai Spicy"... it was delicious, but not easily edible. Had massive burning on my tongue, girlfriend had lips swelling...

Found out that apparently, my limit is "Thai Spicy" That and maybe a hot Vindaloo or two....
