    Default My first Laser

    Yay!

    It's from Rasha, model RD-F015. 500mW RGB.

I had to take the face off to rescue a loose nut, so I snapped a couple of photos.

(There's no warranty stickers [good thing or bad?] so if anyone wants I can take the thing to bits and get some better shots)

Photos of it in action pending (as soon as I get home :-D)

Nice detailed pics, thanks always good to see what others get when dealing with the east. Or I guess North/East for you.

One more photo of the case - Missed the best one :-D

Pay particular attention to the power switch.

The ILAD switch had me absolutely stumped - and terrified to try it and see what it did, until I examined the ILDA ports a bit closer...

The lasers don't seem to be aligned well - photos soon...

All in all it feels a little bit flimsy. Wasn't expecting it to be super high quality tho for the price, so I'm not upset...

Meh... You Gotta love Chinese QC (or lack there of!)

Looking at the bendy angle plate the modules are mounted on, I'm not surprised they're not well aligned, but that'll be a fun job for you later
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

Probably that "IDLA" switch (there has to be a writing mistake ,instead it should be written "ILDA"...) is for to switch X and Y galvos axes between them (X axe become Y and vice versa).

    Of course!
Excuse me in advance if I will seem little rude... No criticism.

Mate... You take a look what a crap dichro's filter mountings have been used! Locked by hot glue!
It will be very hard to re-align colors...
Change them as soon as possible: Aiji and Dave in Australia (close to you...), for little money, can provide to you all you need for to replace those ugly mountings (and dichros...).

You should change aluminium base plate also. It is too thin.
I can tell you without doubt: after re-aligned colors, when closing the projector case you will loose alignment once more because base plate is too much sensible to mechanic pressures and too much flexible.
(Laserworld use or used those crap thin base plates inside their cheap serie projectors.... I have a couple of them....)
Better 1 cm thickness base plate.

    I agree...
About scanners... they are good up to 10-12Kpps. Not beyond.

    Greetings from the antipodes.
Please give my best regards to Auckland.... It has a very special place into my heart (a girlfriend from Blockhouse Bay...).

Please - I'm here to learn, and no offense will be taken. Besides - it's not like I built it or anything...

    No problem mate...
Here there are not any "Professor"... Myself included
I'm glad to give a little help.

It's seem clear. Your green module lost its right position on the base plate.

Purple color (red+blue) seems quite correct, but it doesn't match with green one to obtain the final white color.
Try to move/adjust (up/down/right/left) a little bit the green module. It should been the furthest from galvos, if I've well seen in your photos. (Your modules setup, starting from galvos, should be: blue, red and green). Do not touch (for the moment) any of dichros, if not you loose other colors alignments.
Watch out! I mean to adjust green module position very few tenths of millimeter only!

    Have you a fun!

post scriptum...... Sorry... I forgot about *Pitts* there in Rotorua.... He also can give you all you need.
