OOOOO nice. Bargain for someone with CT's.
They say video games are bad for kids but if Pacman had affected us we'd all be running around in dark
rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

damn if i only didn't spend similar amount of money to pay off loans i'd definitely go into it, that would've been nice to have 2x1,6w rgb kvants... and i observe this older model also has DMX control? how's that?

Well, right after he sent that, 'Aage' got a message from PayPal that said, 'You've got Money!', but Brad also got a message from PP: ...'You've got Lint!'.. jk

No worries, Murph - I'll make sure that 'Cap'n LazerBux' gets a nice 'ROI' out of all his purchases... I know he will, cause if he don't, I'll be 'El Gringo Deado'..

    cheers..

Keep your eye on the buy/sell thread! They ain't that deep anymore. This is it. Done. Finished. No more. (Except what we've discussed of course. And no, not the beam blocks made from wrapped up dog shit either! LOL)

I'm packing tonight for TEXLEM and realizing just how much crap I have that I'm never honestly probably going to really have a chance to do anything with. I'm finding stuff I don't even remember what it is, who I got it from, and what project I foolishly thought I'd ever have time to do. There's bits of glass, of all shapes and sizes. Diodes I couldn't even begin to remember. Mounts, feet, electronic whatchmacallits...., motors, heatsinks. WTF??? Sick, sick hobby I'll tell ya!

The only saving grace is, all goes well, I'm a few short weeks from doing legal shows, with legal equipment for legal tender for legal aged young women and the parents who are footing the bill.

    More to be revealed.

@Jon... truer words... lol (And I sort of kommitted to the kvant before we finalized our plans so, still felt a bit obligated to follow through.)

    Question Umm...

..Sorry, I know this is really 'none of my business' / not my sale, etc, but.... how, exactly, is this an 'RGB'?

EDIT - Just answered my own kvestion...

    ..well, I'll be dipped in peanut-butter jelly-tyme...

..that's quite the brilliant little idea... have these been out for a while, and I just stoopid? Very-possible... first I've heard of it... quite-intriguing...

..I *still* say, I'd like to see external convergence-access for such-like designs / 'all-in-one brick-modules'.. even-if just a tiny silicone-flap-covered ( + ) allen-key port.. but, I guess it is what it is... Plus, looks like some pretty-wonky beam-char disparity, till ya get to the 3300-model... Still.. pretty-dang slick, there, Kvant...

    cheers..

That type of B/R module has been in mine since early 2009, just without a lid at first. They put a lid on it when it was replaced in 2010. I had to adjust mine and all it took was an Allen key to open the lid. Not that access you are looking for but there is some access.

Doh! how did I miss-that?? I guess I stoopid... ..and - access is access - Sure, 'while-still sealed' is better, imo, but if you have any-ability to adjust or open/adjust, w/O 'voiding the warranty', that's just like adding 'smart-engineering' to 'road-wisdom' = best, uh, 'case-scenario'..

    A little story...

Behind the scenes, it was discovered that shipping things out of Norway is ridiculously expensive. FedEx for example was going to be nearly $650 for this little 30 pound Kvant. Shipping things INTO Norway is much more reasonable but even companies that go both ways charge more for things going out. Anyway, Aage was helpful, as was dsli_jon in sorting out a less expensive alternative of air freight where I would have to go to the Philadelphia airport and pick it up. Fine... No problem... it's 20-25 minutes away. The shipping quote was 2600 Norwegian Krones (about $465.52) which I Paypaled. (The waybill indicates it came to 1633.50 Krones and I'll inquire with Aage about that later. I could use the difference! - see below)

Anyway, Friday the 17th (my birthday) at 11 a.m. as promised, the phone rang and it was Continental telling me it arrived and that, because of the value I had to contact US customs in center city for clearance. Customs researched it and said, "Oh, it hasn't made entry, you need to call this number..." I call the number and leave a message. No return call. Naturally nothing is going to happen over the weekend. Monday is Presidents Day and most places are closed so, I didn't expect a call. Tuesday, called and left message. Nothing. Wednesday called and left message. Nothing. Finally, I called Continental back and was referred to a customs broker. In addition, she informed me storage charges started that day at $25 for the first day, and $5 each day after that. The broker was helpful but lead me to think it would be taken care of that day. Nothing. This afternoon, I call the broker. Everything is clear but, I need to send a power of attorney which they were e-mailing me. They also sent along their fee sheet. Looks like $181.50 at a minimum. (Prep, filing, bond, phone, fax, messenger, postage fees) but, it should be cleared by 4:30 this afternoon. I doubt I can get it today so, maybe tomorrow. So there's another $10 in storage fees. I know there is at least a $35 fee disclosed to me from Continental when I pick this up and Lord knows about parking fees. As I see it, I'm at $716.82 not including gas. Who knows what else there may be as there are a series of other "potential" fees with the broker that I don't understand.

So... word to the wise. We're a global community on the forum and buy/sell/trade with each other regularly but, there might be more to that "steal of a deal" than you bargain for! Oh well....

Final cost for the pediatrician, labor room, delivery room, epidural and a pacifier = $834.28

    But, the baby is here.
