    Default Laser diode lightbulbs?

    Interesting story.

remember the cold war era when they had the 20 thousand dollar hammer and the 30 thousand dollar toilet seat?
I wonder how much this is going to cost taxpayers -

Why is it always presumed that people prefer warm white?

When I buy energy saving bulbs I always buy the cold white as the icy white is a lot more sexy that than horrid yellow glow.

Maybe the cost of yellow diodes means we'll see cold white 1st.
They say video games are bad for kids but if Pacman had affected us we'd all be running around in dark
rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

I doubt these 'light bulb' modules will be driven RGB.

Since you don't need (or even want) a collimated beam if you want to replace a light source, it's a lot more cost effective to use a fat beam 445 and a fluorescent layer on the outside of your bulb.
