Hey Chris, LD2000 has 6 colour channels that you can configure in the Palette settings... Haven't seen any palette stuff in Beyond yet, but I would guess it will have all 6 channels... I use 4 of the channels in my RGBB projector... From memory they are red, green, blue, yellow, deep blue/violet and cyan, not necessarily in that order...

Does it have anything to do with a big stadium in the British capital and a logo with 5 rings on it?

If it i, the opening ceremony will be all over the BBC anyway.

Other obvious question, but are there even any SHOW FILES that support other colours than R/G/B and a mix of the three? How do you tell your software you explicitly want 'yellow', not '50% green, 50% red'?

Sadly not that event, but it's still a pretty prestigious thing...

You can manually set the palette from the ILDA colour and fading test patterns and specify which laser(s) display each colour..

OK, so if anyone is near London and wants to see this little beauty in action, here are the details: http://www.watermans.org.uk/exhibiti.../geometry.aspx

It will be opened on Feb 2nd by Boris Johnson (Mayor of London for our overseas friends) and will running every night for most of the year...

This is the projector in its inner case minus the lid obviously, scanners are CT 6215HP's . This all goes into an IP44 casing ready for its big moment

Sorry 'bout the crappy iPhone pic... Will be testing tomorrow, so more to follow...

Spent all day yesterday up on a roof with said porn star, so here are some more crappy iPhone pics...

The mirrors and motors are up on their posts:

One last look at that sexy Taipan before the lid goes on:

    IMG_0450.JPG

And here she is in the first box:

    IMG_0451.jpg

And the outer box, which contains the projector, a heater on a thermostat, a timer and an IP camera:

    IMG_0456.JPG

Me setting up the zone, complete with speckles courtesy of iPhone reverse camera:

    IMG_0459.jpg

Nearly time for the first beam test:

    Zap!!!!

Doesn't look that bright as its only running at about 2 watts right now while we continue to test the remote control... So far, so good, we have remote control and full visibility through the IP camera from 3 locations. The airports all have remote eStops which text 3 phones when activated, so we can then restart the system when they give the all clear...

Next step is to program the actual sculptures and sync up with the mirrors as they rotate... Then it's Boris time

Very happy with progress so far

Been a long time coming, but finally I have some pics of the laser to share with you...

Sadly the display hardly pushes the technology to its limits, but it's what the artist wanted and you *Never* argue with an artist

The idea is that the mirrors rotate into different positions and the laser hits them to make different geometric patterns in the sky... So from a programming point of view, it's all about timing...
