I have seen that AD yesterday as a guest. Why it has been deleted? Lucky I have ordered one that day. Here it is: REKE-500RGB 209$* Shipped. Don't forget to use the Coupon Code: HappyNewYear, that is 10.5% off.

There is a few discrepancies in the Chinenglish at the top of the page they have 450nm listed then in the description its 445nm then they also say it gives a Single Pink Laser lighting, which creates an unforgettable atmosphere and ambiance for your party or event is that the unbalanced white light coming from it? Hmm I wonder if with six you get egg roll. Good as an upgrade unit you would have to do modifications to it including adding a better scanner unless you are just doing basic beam FX. CDRH ready? NOT!

not to mention the "Scanner: 5K High-speed scanning polarize"

no one but the chinese junk makers label 5k galvos/servos/steppers/rubber chickens as "hi-speed"

Here is a great "WTF" quote off the ad
    "NOTE:
The laser can be bright enough when you light it in normal temperature, so you had better not light it continually over 30 seconds
When not using it, please take off the battery from the laser to avoid damage
In some countries these laser pointers (especially the higher powered ones) may be illegal to own and/or use. Therefore, YOU (the customer) must accept all responsibly and liability to determine and fulfill the requirements and limitations of use or resale of these products in accordance with your country's laws and regulations. In the event of resale, you also need to agree to incorporate this notation in the product description, so that any potential buyer can be well informed before making an purchasing decision"
Hmmm 30 second lightshow!! WOW built to sadly under-whelm the progrmmer for sure... Rubber chicken guts for sure. Ill pass

Given the fact that a simple case for an RGB projector will set you back MORE than one of these, what have you got to lose?

I can see a perfect projector here for starters where you can just tweak the hell out of it. Looks to be big enough, plenty of space for upgrades to something more serious.

    Many and not recommended.

You'd be better off spending your money on this:

BTW, you ask how it works - you need a laser with an ILDA input.

We all had an opportunity to see one of these in person at TEXLEM and what it can do. AMAZING output and quality for that price. Len ran Quickshow through it all weekend long and for under $250 it's one bitchin' little chinese creation actually.

You rethinking of joining the photonic world Jim?

BTW, original add has now been removed and it looks like it could have been some kind of surpless / bankrupt stock sale.

I went to the Chinese manufacturers page. Their quoted price per unit is $850-950 US:

I too witnessed the magic of this little box at TexLEM. I was amazed and the brightness is good. We tested it at around 16K on the scanners. Images and color are nice, I did score one for $209 shipped with the coupon; then they sent me a new coupon and pulled the ad. The ad seems to be back on their site but it is a tad more now, still better than most I have seen in this category that would make a nice dog toy. When I get one in my personal cave, I will report back on the new family member and let you know if it is house broken enough.

Still a steal for what it is. And interestingly, I've seen an awful lot of YouTube videos recently where they're showing off their Reke 500mW RGB's. At $209 I'd have had one on the way by now, just for playing/practicing with at home. I'm not getting one at $316 'but, if it's ever $209 again... I think I'm in.
