    Default GM-20 Shutter Kits

Hi all, I have a few GM-20 shutter kits available. They are $75 each shipped inside the USA. Will quote shipping outside the USA seperately. 10% will go to Spec to help support PhotonLexicon. The kit consist of a base unit which has a hole in the bottom for a 1/4-20 screw to mount to your optics table. The GM-20 is mounted to a shaft which makes it easy to raise and lower the GM-20. Each kit will include an arm and a GM-20 driver. The driver is designed for +5VDC input, the modulation input is buffered and can connect directly to ILDA pin 13 of your DAC (QM2K, FB3, etc). Most DAC's out there put out +5V on the shutter line, this is required for the driver to work, I had an email about a year ago where someone's DAC only put out 3V or so. If I remember correctly, the minimum is 4V to get the driver to actuate the GM-20. Current draw is about 130mA when the shutter is actuated, the modulation input requires .7mA.

At 5V, the GM-20 does not move very much as you can see in the photos, if you require it to move more you can increase the input voltage, though I wouldn't go past 8VDC.

I don't have a website anymore so if you're interested send me PM with you email address and I'll send a paypal invoice to you.

    Have 2 kits left!
    Thanks!

hey david, can i ask for something a bit strange?

Please let me know when you only have two pieces left. I might need a couple of these, but i might also be really hard pressed for cash, so let's talk just before you sell out. thanks!

No problem, I don't think I'll sell out soon, but I'll set 2 aside for now.

yea that was me the riya only puts out 3.3v so if you have a riya you would need to boost the signal

    Bitchin, Sire...

Question - are these 'TTL' or Ana? In other words, can they 'fade' or will they only snap? I mean, between the min V of 4 and the ILDA +5, yeah, not much 'movement-range' anyway, but between, say, +5 and +8, and a nice knife-blade flag, you could get a decent fade... (ie: I'm thinkin of those running ions, still..

    cheers...

Jon, these are strictly TTL, designed to either fully block your laser beam or not. They would work great for beam table work (thanks for the feedback, KGB!) or as shutters in solid state projectors. In my opinion, fading should only be derived from the intensity line or the color lines.

VJ AIWAZ, I'm not familiar with riya at all, are all their DAC's like this? It just seems odd that the output would only be 3.3V. Do the color lines reach a full 5V?

it says it has -2.5v - +2.5v for 5vdifferential for the color lines

Do you have differential receivers for the color lines at your projector? I know on the early QM2K's, they were setup for differential color and if you grounded the "-" color lines it would force the "+" color lines to go from 0-5V. I would hope the RIYA is the same, otherwise you may only end up with +2.5V for full on, unless of course you have a differential receiver.

Hi all, I still have some GM-20 kits available. Also, I have this color box available, it just has the mount, 2 GM-20's, 2 flags with dichros. No drivers for the GM-20's. The GM-20's are tested and working fine. Looking for $100 shipped within the USA. I also have two 8 channel GM-20 drivers, I'm totally unfamiliar with this driver and I am selling both completely untested, looking for $60 shipped in the USA for both drivers.

edit - forgot to add pics ---

Hmm... intrigued... but.. 'DHOP Electronics'? Any 'country of origin' info stamped on 'em? Perhaps P'Fessor Roberts might know..

..Did a quick Google and turned-up nothin much-helpful.. though I did turn-up a result for 'DayStar's House Of Prayer'.....Boy, do I know *that* story...

..well... I'll see if perhaps Steve might know something.. or, perhaps someone else here might... If we can find documentation for pinouts / I/Os n' such, I might bite... need any more MM-1's? ...jk, we'll hafta see if info turns-up...

    thx...

Sorry to say that these *may* be sold out now. Waiting for payment on the last 2 orders, if they pay then these are gone for good. The only thing I have left is the two unknown 8 channel drivers and the 2 GM-20's in the dual dichro mount thing. Just to get this off the shelf and make room for breakout boards I'll let these go for $75 or best offer.

mine are here, not tested them yet (and will not do so for the moment) as mister DZ had thrown a tiny piece of distraction in the box that has me smilling for the last hour or so

    thank you very much sir!
