    Default DZ's new projector

Thought you guys might like some pics of a new projector I'm working on. Since my Reliant ended up being unpolarized I decided to put 2 scan heads on this bench along with a 2nd pcaom. I don't have either scan head on the bench just yet, just laying out the optical paths at the moment. The beam is being split with a PBS cube from Dave at lasershowparts.com (thanks Dave!).

Hey Mark! Going to be using G-120's in both scan heads. I have turbotrax for one scan head and will be using the stock AVI amps for the other.

Pretty sad, isn't it? I've decided if I get out of laser again I might just throw this entire rig right into the St. Johns river and call it a day.

I predict your next hobby might be diving!
They say video games are bad for kids but if Pacman had affected us we'd all be running around in dark
rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

Two PCOAMS, TWO scan heads, and 90' polarization. I sense the FORCE of 3D is coming, you have X and X Prime on your Quadmod right?

I've been thinking a bit about 3D, it's going to be more of an afterthought though. Primarily, the AVI effects scan head will just backup the other scan head. I'm working on getting an old school analog console to run the AVI head. If it doesn't work out I'll probably get an FB3 for it, not sure yet. Either way, I will make some sort of small console for image manipulation, effect control and maybe some 3D stuff.

    Looks sweet

A trick we do, that's solely for beam effects with a dual scan head ( in our case its just 2 projectors side by side ) is reversing the red and blue colour channels on the second scan head

I better get a call from you asking me to take it from your car to the river so I can gently place it in the "river"...

Yes we are turbotracking! This one was built in 2002 or 2003, can't remember for sure at the moment. If you like that scan head, wait till you see the one I'm going to put right next to it. Suppose to arrive in the mail today.

nice, very nice, always loved your setups
Thanks, Frank, I'm trying to go all out on this one. Might even be motivated enough to variance the thing.

Hey swamidog, you talking about the lumia I had on my website? I wish I could take credit for that stuff! That was from PL's very own Displaser. The lumia in the pic above is from one of Displaser's torture tubes. Those things are awesome.
