    Default sopa - pipa

i see that none has raised the point... and i'd like to put it a bit "sideways" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

we are having a good laugh out of it over here, especially with the "pipa" part, which sounds exactly like a slang word we have for... ehm... oral exercises

"sopa" means just "be quiet", so it is fairly innocent
    "its called character briggs..."

Nice to see that someone is making a stand against the further erosion of liberties.
Niot that it will make a blind bit of difference as they'll continue to tread all over the public to pander to the corporates will (and money).

    The fuck is this:
    http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-h3261/money

Is that really a list of how much money your senators and representatives received for voting against/in favor of a bill? Maybe I'm just being European but that's just plain corruption!
Does it make me a nerd when I go to a party with my laptop?

En espaņol, sopa = 'soup', y pipa = 'pipe'... so: 'Congress, put down the (crack) pipe and don't piss in the soup!! Mono-cerote cabrones!

Really, the entire corporate-lobbyist war-machine needs to be sent the gas-chamber... Anyone see the documentary-flick "Inside Job"? (..no, not about '9-11'..) - excellent, but it will *boil your blood*... Ugh, don't get me started... the whole 'system' needs to be wiped..

    Lessons learned today.
    1) The old ways are dying, adapt or become irrelevant.
    2) People have had enough of getting eternally screwed everywhere they turn.
    3) Don't fuck with the internet.
    4) To the house, senate, president: ignore the nerds at your own peril. We are watching you more closely.

Today was much more than just a Protest against two shitty bills trying to be ramrodded through by bought and paid for " representatives" this was a sea change in how congress has to respond to the Internet in general. It is an extension of the occupy wall street movement on one side and the tea party on the other. The kettle is starting to boil. It is transcending petty partisan bs and because of the intertubes it is going to get harder to screw us without us knowing about it.

This has crystallized for a lot of new people just how sleazy the lobbyist and hooker relationship really is.

This is not so much an issue of lobbyists, protesters etc. because they are just a response to the overwhelmingly intrusive, non-constitutional activities of the federal government. MUCH of what the U.S. government does is simply not authorized by the constitution. The whole subject of a variance and FDA approval is based on the need to placate a big, powerful organization, but there is no legal justification for the existence of the organization itself ! The internet represents a threat to any entity that maintains its power thru the ignorance of its activities and as such will remain under attack despite these attempts by Wikipedia et al to defend it. The greatest threat comes from small incremental intrusions justified in the name of security and fairness; the two, often quoted excuses for control and retribution in the downward path to socialism. So there!
