    Default Toyz

It's like Xmas MkII round here right now...

    2x estops
    2x DT30 scansets
    4x CNI 500mW 532
    6x 3 axis mounts

Originally bought 4 so I could get a half decent matched pair for my RGB satellites and sell the remaining 2 on, but they're now going into a pair of green satellites, hence the new scanners.

Got 5 of Guido's scanfail/safety boards on the way too, to do all of my projectors at once! Might have some consistent wiring for a change

Nice to see a good book in the background for when your toys get boring...

Just starting doing power testing/grading now.
3 are doing 850-1000mW CW after 5mins, the 4th is only about 600mW.
Modulation behaviour testing will be done tonight.
I may need to order a couple more to see if I can make a better matched pair out of the remaining 2. At the moment it looks like I'll be left with a 600mW and 900mW which may be too big a gap.
I'll post all the results later.

It looks like I'll have a few greens from 300mW up to 700mW up for sale in the next month or so, from CNI and Laserwave.
The Laserwave ones will have a few hundred hours on them, the CNI's will have been powered up long enough to power test them for grading.
There'll be nothing wrong with them other than the fact they were the ones that didn't match another head closely enough to make a matched pair on power and mod characteristics.

    Awesome on the 'things'

Yeah... Nothin beats the smell of freshly unpacked laser goodies!
The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.

Let us know how these CNIs check out, i'm currently looking for a pair of greenies around 800-1000mW with good modulation, good price.

If you got a new toy that's cool, but make your own thread, don't spam someone else's thread...

    It's spam for me.

Keep it in your own thread please, especially if the announcement is that you have something for sale. In fact, if it's for sale, keep it in the for sale section.

Hey Norty, you read Terry Pratchett? Cool.

Would you believe I graduated from the Unseen University? I have a Degree in Abstinence and a Masters Degree in Procrastination with Honors.

BTW, I bought one of those "Circumvolve" E-Stops just for the key switch and stop button (price was right) but beware, the E-Stop button mechanism is pure rubbish and will fall apart... Check the sides of the switch mechanism, they come off easily and then it's game over.

I'm going to make an ILDA thru box that takes the interlock loop out to a DB9 connector.
This way I can simply insert the box inline where it is needed and use the supplied DB9 cable to put the e-stop somewhere handy (useful if they want an extra estop onstage for the stage manager whilst you're at FoH).
Should be quite easy to replace just the switch mech, and I mean, how much use is it likely to get!??

I have mounted both my FB3's in a larger Eddystone box, with a pair of D25 outputs from each FB3 fitted for connection to projectors.

I have broken the interlock loop with stop button, so the whole thing is self contained. I can also invert the X axis on my sats with a DPDT switch wired accordingly.

I like your idea of an e-stop on stage.

How much use? Here in WA the regulations require that I test the E-Stop, shutters etc before every show.
