    any guru's wanna give an opinion if these are worth playing with ?

    That's bin up since shortly before christmas. I also thougt about trying one but by the time you get a decent pump diode, optics and so on, it may be cheaper to get a compleat laser.

    Only good for low power... The Nd:Yvo4 is 1% so the LIDT is very low and you'll easily crack the crystal.

    ..I hear if you swallow-them whole, like a 'vitamin-pill', you'll be a better-laserist in 8 hrs.. ...and you'll be making amazing 'lumias in a bowl' in 24-48...

    ..But ya gotta love that 'Chivertizing', That's so so easy!!! Lol...

    ..but seriously, Yeah on the gain, plus you gotta think about temp-control, etc, as 'things' was recently finding with the Corning G-1000... (http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...hlight=corning )
