    Default 40kpps,showcard + dmx lcd + pangolin

    I am close to buying
    a pt-40kpps Galvo system.
A i-show card with lcd display.
    and 1 pangolin quick show.

the price quote i am getting from "spacelas.com" is kinda steep for the shipping, If anyone can do a good deal on something like this please let me know. I have done business with others on this forum and have good references. I would like a lcd display instead of dip switches but not critical that i have the lcd display. I would like a 40kpps system to scan my profile picture and make animations. and that is where pangolin comes in. If anyone can do a better deal than SL.com Please send me a pm or reply.
    shipping: California usa. 95620
    thank you

Yes i would reccomend DT40,s too. Or if you do mainly beamshows and some graphics then DT30,s are great quality for price. If you go DT40 go with larger 7x12mm mirrors. That will give you the possibilty of having a 5mm beam and that is a bonus with the upcoming 635nm diodes.for a red

    I did Spacelas,
I ended up going with the DT-30s from Dave since i was planning on doing professional shows and was recommended to professional equipment. He also has pangolin for a good price.

    OK. no problem

Compared to dt30, pt-30 will have better price and with the same or better than dt30.

Making professional shows, should use pt-40 or dt-40

Better price, but much lower build quality. The scan angles on the PT30's I tested a while back were no where near as wide as the DT's.

I agree the quality of the DT,s are much better then PT30. But eyemagics are better then DT,s. Also raytracks are better then DT,s because of the driverboard that has scanfail onboard. If you expect a BMW for the price of a beetle forget it. I think that i speak for most people here on the planet worrying and irritation because something that fails is far worse then spending a few extra bucks. And DT,s are cheap compared to eyemagics or raytracks, But Raytracks have an on board scanfail so that is not an honest comparison in price. So i would go for DT,s. Best bang for the buck and available from Dave or Rob. Depending on wich side of the planet you are.
If your in the US pick one because the US is in the middle

Thanks for backing me up you guys. Ive had that experiance building a turbocharged system for a car of mine and having to buy name brand parts to replaced the broken knock off brands that i was buying to save a buck. in the end it ended up costing me more in the long run to fix the broken part and the parts it broke once that part started to malfuntion. I dont want to make the same mistake again so im just buying the "decent" name brand or atleast recommended parts, and since this is going to be my main projector i want it to be quality built. Thank you all.
