If you have the latest beta there are multiple ways of exporting to ilda. Are you using the blue "Record to Ilda file" button or right click in timeline >> Record show to Ilda? If you do the latter method, a settings window pops up. Try setting it to playback speed and a lower fps.
Where do you set the value for point rate? Because the record to ilda file button doesn't have any options and right click/record to ilda only has fps.

    Hi Colouredmirrorball,

You just made my day , thanks a lot! I did not know that menu, the resulting ILDA is now 30Mb instead of 12Gb. I played with the point rate settings in the optimization settings.

Just one problem left, my DAC hangs all the time. The laser show stops playing on the laser (LSX keeps playing, the laser hangs) and the last image is just beamed (so scanning still works). I cannot stop the laser output at that point, only when I close LSX the laser stops. Tried everything, different cabling, different ethernet settings etc.
Hopefully this one can be solved soon.

this is interesting, i have older moncha usb dac and lsx runs with it smooth no problem, the dac itself is limited to 30kpps i guess, does moncha.net come with a different driver?

Hmmm, I don't think point rate has an effect on produced ilda files, but I believe the interpolation settings do. Are you sure you're not adding too much points?

I can't help you with the Moncha issue though... the only thing to say is make sure you use the original driver that comes with LSX, not one from the Moncha website. Or maybe try swapping the LSX driver (in C:\Program Files (x86)\LaserShow Xpress and I believe it's the fiesta.dll file or FNet.dll, maybe dzodzo can confirm? not sure) with one from the Moncha website and see if that works. If it does you need to contact drlava and ask he updates the Moncha driver because you can't play protected shows with the one from the Moncha website and maybe other things.

Point rate 99% does not affect ilda files as the ilda format does not store scanrate.
However if you make a graphic with a different scanrate and you optimize/correct for the untuned laser projector then it does affect what it will look like on other scanners.

Likely you have a refresh based rate going here which means the program keeps generating frames based on rescanns to fill in a certain length of time.. in that case the point rate does affect the output as more frames will be inserted to match the timing.

Just chipping in some thoughts here although I don't use LSX.

    Hi all,

Update from my side: Andrew helped me out with the Moncha, it turned out that the moncha.net driver used 100% of a cpu core. There was a setting in the laser.ini file where nmode needed to be set to value '2' which resolved the issue mostly (only some stuttering remains sometimes). He will ask Showtacle about the driver behaviour. But I am very happy now because now I can really use the program (which is awesome)!
@colouredmirrorball: Thanks a lot for your tutorials on youtube, they're a great way to start with and learn the fundamentals of the program!

Thank you all for the help

glad to hear it! now make some awesome shows.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Does anyone know what it takes to upgrade between LSX versions? Do you need to get a new dongle, or just update the license file in the LSX folder? Because I want to upgrade to Basic but Andrew doesnt respond. If its an automatic emailing system and if I'd buy the upgrade now I'd receive the .lic file to my email via an automatic emailing system I'd do it. But if he has to do it manually and/or send me a new dongle I'd be hesitant to upgrade right now.

Another question, does anyone know how to make a wave equalizer in LSX which react to audio from mic/audio card? CMB made a great tutorial and doing it with boxes or other graphics, but here I need to manipulate locations of points in a line. Thanks in advance.

I believe an upgrade requires Andrew to manually generate a new license file (with the same dongle).

I'm not sure about your second question. Do you mean you want to move points up and down? Then just put the expression that was in the SizeY event in my tutorial in a ShiftY event...

Thank you. I mean animating a line like so.

That is, shifting the points of the line up and down. I have no idea how.
