Default Dichro's reflect to damn much??

So i thought it was weird, after 8 times putting first contact on the dichros then removing it, ive put back dichro's wich look fairly clean to the eye.(8 times because there were always first contact parts that didnt come loose so had to remove that then start over)
My red dichro is reflecting about 50mw. But after lomming my blue dichro i found out it reflects 140mw!!!
Thats ofcource an unacceptable power for a module wich gives 1,2W.

Is there coating on dichro's? Maybe it came off because all the first contact?
Any idea's on how to improve?

It is probably the dichro isn't very good at passing 445. This quite common unfortunately. You are losing about 10% but you may find its cheaper to have a bigger blue than pay for a more expensive and quality dichro.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

To be honest there is no dichros that pass 445 that well, not unless you want to spend $$$
Even my new type laserwave reflect red pass 445 looses 10%
Borg you will have to get use to the idea your going to loose a shit load of power with dichros
And the biggest loss is yet to come, and thats the galvo mirrors ,yet another 10/15%

Really with your green you will need 1.7w 638 and 2w 445 , i all ready built one at these powers
    And it came out fine
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

badger is correct, but if you are willing to spend that extra $ then I have a solution. I have bought and played with half a dozen dichros from as many sources including Semrock and it seems the best solution is to add beams with long pass filters. No matter who makes them the long pass filters simply work better. From Semrock, look at the MUX series. For 445nm, 532nm and 638nm RGB, I like the Edmund 1/2 inch "beam combiners" - 552nm followed by the 446nm. These are mounted, $125 each and pass greater than 99% and leak aprox 0.5% of the added beam. These seem to work identically to the Semrock filters and are cheaper. I have constructed two projectors with these filters and the leakage barely bumps my power meter. From now on its red-green-blue-scanner.
