suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    Hi Philipp!
Well, it turns out that the mount for one of the lasers is too high, so, rather than raise everything else to match the green i've decided to fabricate a new mount/heatsink. My block of 30x30mm ali arrived, which will be used to make the mount (this weekend), so i'm just waiting on 2 more plates of ali to arrive. I'll cut these to size and use them to bolt each component on for ease of removal should i need to. With Christmas nearly here the post is somewhat slower than normal, but i'm hoping they should be here today.
I'm Flying to Germany on the 19th - 25th, so it'll more than likely be just after christmas before i can begin to fix all the components to the plates, but at least i now have everything to complete it.

    Cheers
    Adrian

Yeah, they were from Dave's group buy. As with his diode mounting blocks they are really well machined, and they are the same height

A few more bits arrived today. Just waiting on delivery of a micro mill next week and i can finally begin bolting everything down. For me, the hardest bit will be fabricating the enclosure from sheet steel

I know the likes of Sieg, Axminster, Newport etc are significantly better, but as i only need it for occasional (very) small fabrications i simply couldn't justify the cost of a bigger machine.
In the end i got it for £357 delivered (from Germany).

    oh dear... ;-)

    takes a max of a 6mm tool

this can take a 10mm tool as standard, but you could upgrade thr chuck for a 13mm tool
probably stonger build in general and a good price

the next one up is the one i started with the conquest, but thats £455
if you keep an eye on ebay you can get them for £350-400

just a thought im sure you will have fun with it
