    Default Farewell comet ISON

Well if you were hoping for a great opportunity to see an incredible comet next month, you'll have to continue to wait. Sadly, it fizzled out today. Some satellites captured some amazing footage though:

Well that sucks... (puts telescope away )

Not to derail the thread, but thought I would pass this along. Here's a neat item from the Chrome experimental website (link - kudos to Paul Bourke at small_planetarium group):

Too bad. I was really looking forward to seeing this during sunrise while driving to work.

News reports here are saying that the reports of its demise might be a little premature.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    Let's hope so.
Although every time I see the quote "a once in a lifetime opportunity" I'm reminded that every moment is once in a lifetime.
Events may be replicated but your state of mind at any one particular time can never be replicated and some things will stick in your eidetic memory for no discernible reason.

Sorry to get all "Hippy" on folks there ......

Maybe someone will start a Facebook campaign to "Save ISON"............
