Most honest from them is DT huh?
I hope to hear more about these in the future. Having more options is always good.

I think the claims of the PT-40's are only slightly less exaggerated than the DT-40's. (PT claims 20 degrees, while DT claims 25, but in reality they both do around 17 degrees, and then only at 30K.)

That being said, the PT's are half the cost of the DT's, and perform just as well, based on my experience with them over the past few months at least.

Got my PT-40s from Omar on Friday. Brad you were right about the crazy fast shipping. I was able to put them in my projector last night. Haven't been able to do a whole bunch of testing but with the little bit I could do I am very happy with the purchase. I am going to do more extensive testing this weekend or next week when I have time.

I also purchased by PT-40's from Omar, great service and prompt delivery. I put them in my new rig and they worked great for about 10 hours--then the tuning went out of whack. I then re-tuned the scanner using the ILDA test frames, and they are performing as well as my DT-40 wides (which I also had to re-tune after I replaced the scanner mirrors). I guess if you get the laser bug, you need to teach yourself how to tune the scanners.

    So Gents,

How have your PT's held up? Still using them? I'm looking for experience with PT-A40's vs DT40 Pro's.

Are people adopting 506's yet? Where's the comparo thread?!

My DT40s are still holding their own though their tuning has shifted some and I should retune. My PT-40s (not PT-A40s) have fallen to pieces. As for 506s, I may get a comparison together tonight. I have a set running off of some PT-20 amps, "DT40" Red Board amps, and KVANT's dual ch amp.

I've been using the PT-40's for over a year , 3x weekly with zero failures.

I spent some time on a kvant projector with 506's at selem. the quality was not nearly what I was expecting.

I can certainly understand. I had to make some minor alterations to get the performance up where I wanted. The tuning needed to be tweaked and the power cable was too small. Projecting abstracts at 20°, I was experiencing power limiting. To counter this, I soldered 18awg wire directly to the amp from the PSU. The 28awg wire on the ribbon cable was just way too small. After adding heavier wire, the power limiting stopped. I was also able to retune and get the performance up where I wanted. I am curious what size PSU they were feeding their amp.

The AL factory does not speak english.
However what I can say is the AL20k galvos can handle 30kpps when retuned at 8 degrees.
I own both AL15k and AL20k only difference is HFD in the amps is missing not allowing you tune the unit up till proper scanspeeds and you get less accessories with the unit for hooking up things.

I would love to test out AL40k maybe I'll get them after sufficient people buy my selem show and then write a review.
I currently have the Raytrack 35+ and I love them.. they really outperform my LW50k scanners.
