Ok, I've held off on adding this forum for a while because I was concerned about people posting files they don't have rights to distribute.

Lets get one thing crystal clear: No one likes lawsuits: Do not, under any circumstances, post files you aren't legally and contractually allowed to.

To Content owners: If you find a post/attachment that contains your intellectual property, for lack of a better term, that shouldn't be here: send me an Email or Private message and it will be removed post haste.

In short: There is no known caselaw covering "pass-through" liability of a website operator for the posted contents of the users that congregate there-in.

That being said: My attorney advises me that I should respond quickly and swiftly to DMCA Take-down requests and I will go one further by considering email correspondence as good as any legal document.

Above all else: Lets have fun and revive the laser-scene. Its about time.

Hmm, for some reason it still doesn't work for me. I tried to access it from a command line and it gets rejected as well. Maybe it has something to do with my host? Is anyone else using Comcast?

No, I'm on Road Runner, but I also checked it at work with a standard browser and it worked there too.

Might be an issue with your ISP. Have you tried connecting to other FTP sites? Is that the only one that isn't working?

Hmm, welp, that answers that. I FTP'd in to an FTP server from a command line, then FTP'd into ildaswap.net. Definately an ISP issue then... Oh well, wonder why its blocked...

You *can't* log in as anonymous! You have to use the log in ID and password specified in Cruch's post.

Anonymous login means you use "anonymous" as your login and your e-mail address as your password. But the ildaswap ftp server does *not* allow anonymous login.

Use ilda (no caps) for the login and swap for the password. (Again, no caps)

Hi,

I would like to get onto the ildaswap ftp server but keep getting a problem.
Each time I try, this is what happens:

[16:14:42] Resolving host name "ftp.ildaswap.net"
[16:14:42] Connecting to 89.162.7.6 Port: 21
[16:14:42] Connected to ftp.ildaswap.net.
[16:14:42] Server closed connection
[16:14:42] Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...

I have the correct username and password setup, Any ideas?

Try ftp://ftp.ildaswap.net/ilda/ and see if that works. The FTP site won't let you log in to the root directory with the standard ID and password. It expects you to go to the ilda sub-directory.
