    Bbe,

Yes....Those Four (4) whole'rs are very NICE. !! Are you thinking of using telescope optics to pack all those tight single emitter beams into one bundle????

    See attached pics !! haha

Beam Axiom #1 ~The Quantum well is DEEP ! Photons for ALL !!
    .
Beam Axiom #2 ~Yes...As a matter of fact...I DO wear tinfoil on my head !!
    .
Beam Axiom #3 ~Whe'n dout...Po ah Donk awn et !!
    .
Beam Axiom #4 ~A Chicken in every Pot, and a Laser Lumia in every Livingroom !!
    .
    Beam Axiom #5 ~"Abstract Photonic Expressionism"....is "Abstractonimical" !!
    .
Beam Axiom #6 ~ "A Posse ad Essea" ~ From being possible to being actual ...is the beam target !

    Thanks guys,

That red board in back is electrostatic/transient suppressor board. Also my driver has a slow start without any transient processes.
I do not see any Lasorbs
    Be patient, please

Yes !!!! Corral those bad boys !!! Yippiee Ki Yay !!!!! Photons in lock step and in tight formation !!! That's the ticket !!! dsli-Jon once allowed me to see the expanded beam of an projector....cannot remember the manufacture ??...it was amazing how compact the beams were hammered into formation !!! Many beams....into what looked like one tight farfield !!!!

Looking at this pic, it looks like there is a lot of space in between those beams at the output. With different optics or focal length would it not be possible to get a tighter beam or even overlapping beams to get a smaller beam diameter?

with that many beams would all this work really give you a better output than just using a 1W 638nm multimode diode?

absolutely, mainly on reds. On P73/Oclaro multimode we usually achieve 4-5mm beam and around 1mrad after cylindricals.

Probably Edmund Scientific. The trick is the optical design work. And it is a lot of work. Sometimes it's a secret. Other times it's not

    looks can be deceiving!

it may look like big gaps between beams but actually each beam has been clipped by the beam next to it. the way single mode beams are shaped, not round as people thing, they are more oval.

when you blow a single mode beam up on a wall the edges are not very powerful so you can clip them and not lose much power
