Well, for me there are not "good" or "bad" diodes, it depends on your application. I go with P73 on my modules and the result is pretty good but you must take care to tame them accurately.
Short FL collis produces smaller beams but with higher divergence and vice-versa, so this is a trade off. With short collis and no correction you will get crisp beams but only near from projector, so IMO diodes should be corrected after to take profit of every photon over distance.
Best setup is short collis to achieve tighter knife-edge/stacking on arrays BUT with correction after to get 'decent' divergence.
About your question, there are many 9mm out there, each one with its own beam properties/power/wl.
In practice, and overall speaking , so not numbers now, P73 is about double in divergence than NDB7875/NDG7475, similar than 07E/06 and better than NUBM44/08. It is also a bit less divergent than Oclaro 700mW.
