Adam B: I think the "cars and coffee" refers to the Seinfeld HBO show called "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee". Its an enjoyable watch.

<Edit> Oh, and I'd love to see other folks builds to see what ideas I can . . appropriate . . for future builds.
Cars and Coffee car shows are not the same as the Seinfeld thing where he drives around and has coffee. It's where some parking lot is designated ahead of time and people show up with their cars. You might see a Ferrari or an old VW or even some guy with a nice new Ford Focus and a fancy stereo. It's just a chance for "car people" of all types to come together, socialize a bit, and let the public check out their cars, without having to actually deal with putting a formal car show together. The "lasers and lattes" theme seems to fit that theme pretty well.

Also, no one really drinks coffee at these things. It just goes along with the theme of having them in the morning. Having food and hot drinks around open projectors isn't the best idea anyway.

Anyway, looking forward to it. I might bring an assortment of stuff to show off. Not sure I want to actually open up all the projectors so maybe that rule can be relaxed.

I'm in! What a great idea. Although for Saturday morning's round, I think it might depend on how late people are up on Friday night.

While the Seinfeld thing is quite enjoyable, "Cars and Coffee" is a real thing for car nuts (like me). It's basically a local "car show" on Saturday or Sunday mornings where people get together and show off their stuff. See: https://cars.coffee/

edit: Oops... didn't see John's post above.

I drink the coffee at those things I think this is a cool idea. I'd love to show off the franken-mobo provided I can pull it off the truss in Club SELEM long enough to display it here...

Cars & Coffee is where Mustangs and their owners go to drive over spectators & crash into unsuspecting motorists.

I am thinking about bringing my ML10-300 to SELEM. It has its Laser physics reliant argon now, but I'm thinking about swapping it with a 1w 520nm I have. It would be much brighter with the green but I feel like I should keep it all original.

What have you changed to "Franken" your mobolazer?

Ouch. I love the cars and coffee at great falls though. Where else do you ever get to see a GT40 (superformance) and F40 in the same place?
