The FTP server of this website has a large amount of them. This post explains how to access a read-only version: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...-November-2011

Do you own a pangolin device to use these frames? If not guess what. You can't use them. Read the agreement. No pangolin frames can be converted to another format and posted for use on any other system other than a pangolin system.

Yea seems like IP issues week.

Just out of curiosity, what agreement are you referencing?

You must be talking about some Pangolin agreement? The TERMS.txt file on the ftp server says:

Welcome to sharing your laser frames. Please upload NON-copyrighted material only!

Copyrighted material that is uploaded on this FTP server
must have permission or authorization from the author of the files.

Thanks for sharing to us all.

    Notice:
Owner of this server is not responsible if someone is uploading
copyrighted material without permission or authorization from the author.

When uploading/downloading file(s) you agree to the above terms!

Yes the pangolin agreement when you get the frames library. Says you can't resell or convert. If someone takes pangolin frames and converts to ild and then posts them for anyone to use on any system that's not allowed. Not commenting on ftp just the direct ask for ild files of pangolin frames. Once it goes ild. Bill losses control on that which he owns.

Kecked is talking about our license agreement, which is unavoidable if you have our software (you see it SEVERAL times during installation, and several times throughout your life as a Pangolin user -- same as Apple...):
    http://pangolin.com/license-agreemen...ited-warranty/

Specifically, he's talking about this paragraph:

    10. USE OF PANGOLIN-PROVIDED SHOW ELEMENTS (“PPSEs”): In general, PPSEs may be included in productions that are for your own use. However, PPSEs may not be sold or transferred, in whole or in part, to others who are not licensed to use Pangolin Software. Examples of prohibited transfers to others include: (a) direct copying of PPSEs; and (b)indirect copying via transferring files you create which include PPSEs; and (c) recording shows containing PPSEs onto laser-projectable formats. This provision does not apply to: (a) show elements that you create; (b) distribution of PPSEs in video and film; and (c) PPSEs owned by others when transferred with the owner’s permission. It is your sole responsibility to confirm that anyone you provide PPSEs to has the appropriate licenses from Pangolin to use such PPSEs. The foregoing does not apply to show elements that you create; distribution of PPSEs in video, film or similar non-laser-projectable media; PPSEs owned by others when transferred with the owner’s permission; PPSEs in the public domain such as ILDA test pattern frames; and PPSEs that have additional or differing restrictions detailed in text (.TXT) files located in the same directory as the related frame and show files.

In the USA and Europe, it is quite easy (and we have done it several times -- successfully) to prosecute people and companies who violate any of the terms of our license agreement, including those related to content. In China, it's more difficult since their government puts all kinds of bureaucratic "red tape" in the way (supposedly designed to make sure companies aren't fooling the court and throwing their weight around). It takes a while to get all of the "certified copies" of various documents they want, and it's taken more than a year to do so, but we've finally gathered them. You need new certified copies for each separate court case, but thanks to the wisdom of our IP attorney, who recommended we get not one but many notarized/certified copies, we are now prepared for battle among many and any people or companies who violate the terms of our license agreement, or otherwise infringe our IP.

By the way, the whole notion of that paragraph is to recognize that Pangolin has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, making deals with artists and companies, to give us permission and proper copyrights to distribute their content -- content which we then give away for free to all licensed users. We are willing to do this as a further enticement to use Pangolin software instead of a competitor's software. (Microsoft did the same thing for decades with their clip-art collections which came with Microsoft Office.) And in fact, literally this week we are wrapping up two deals to distribute two new pieces of content (which I won't detail here, but which many PL members have seen and love and are in high demand).

Pangolin software is priced reasonably, and people instantly acquire the ability to use any Pangolin-provided content by merely owning Pangolin hardware (including QM2000, FB3 and FB4) and agreeing to project that content through Pangolin hardware. This is a reasonable concept, and one which is done by many software companies around the world. Thus, as Kecked and other people have implied, you can either do the right thing, or... face the consequences. One of those consequences is PL members shunning you, because most PL members know the downside of piracy...

    Best regards,

    William Benner
