Located in Clover, South Carolina - Buffo you know you need it, it even comes with the remote! Or maybe matt... Read Jon's response below, it might make a good paperweight! I saw the price I posted a link ;P I know the remotes are hard to get with this model of laser, and that that price resell the remote and use it for a boat anchor at FLEM!

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

According to the Model#, I believe that's actually a Krypton UV - most-often, the 'industrial 300's out-there FS are gonna-be UV, more-typically Ar-UV, but those are like Model 325/328, etc... if it's a WL or show-caliber Ar / Kr 300, those were typically branded-as Skylights, etc..

..Yes, you *can* change the optics on these heads, but still, tubes / heads set-up for UV-werk usually have special-mag-settings via the PSU EEPROMs / MB, and even bore-size differences, etc ..So, not sure this puppy would be all that Gr8 for light-shows... but, I could also be completely-wrong (..as-to what tube is actually in this head..)...clearly, from the notes on that one pic, this head has had at least one 'tube-job'..

..I'm sure 'The P'fessor' could weigh-in as-to the merits of at least attempting to do something with this sys - especially, as you point-out, at that price... that's worth-it in PSU-parts alone! (..solid brass proteus-assy, contactors, sub-PSUs, optics-holders, etc..)

..If anyone is looking to get an ion-fix, there's always these: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...054#post213054 - ..and, I *know* I can say, with 150%-surety, they're "Gr8 for light shows"...

fwiw... ..but you still get points for trying to-be helpful...

Could this be used in the construction of a high power 532? Pumped w/808.. or, is it missing the ND:YV04 .. Wonder how many watts of 808 it could take..

Yeah, you'd need to pump it with 1064 to get any green, not 808... ...but: "..Some mysterious words were written on its surface in ballpoint pen by a child of unknown origin." Lol!! ..I'll bet that kid got his hide 're-polished and re-coated'!...

Haha!! Yes I saw this one too..lol But theres a few red flags that popped up for me..
    1. It has a built in CPU, and if theres something wrong with it, it could take months to fix...
    2. The amount of hours on..
But it could be nothing wrong with it, other than optics..lol!! Never know!!

..unless, you've got a Pal on the West Coast that happens to have a couple motherboards for these (..well, just swap eeproms and two other socketed ICs..) ..just sittin around, all lonely-like, collecting dust...

..but, seriously, in-spite of the 'temptation', I'd have a good chat with P'fessor Roberts on his-thoughts about tryin to 'convert' these to VIS-Kr, *if* this tube, is indeed, set-up for UV.. I seem to remember something, in-particular, about UV-tube magnet-settings that would cause 'issues', even-if you could just-up and swap the optics.. I know it does with Sabres...(..trying to use a VIS-tube in a UV-head...)

    iirc...

Here's a very neat looking old laser for a very good price. I already have one so am passing this on. Anyone interested in a a vintage laser shelf gnome should be happy with this one. It really looks like it's from the '60s!

    Hey all,
    I found this:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/260948457840...84.m1439.l2649

I bought this laser! X-Laser Skywriter RGY 300mw
I've also gotten in contact with X-Laser about getting it calibrated and transferring the ownership. I've been watching this forum for some time now. Nice to post something. Hope this was a good buy. I'm debating if Pangolin will look good with it. I'm so new to all this. 15k scanners work ok for scrolling text? As I understand it the slower scanners may have problems with texty stuff unless its scrolling. I hate to ask too many questions on here because the lingo is so far out there. So I'll just keep searching.

FYI I used to own a 500mw Laserworld CS-RGBV. I think this X-Laser will be better and make me feel much better about the legality. X-Laser was $682 shipped. I think its a good deal.

Thanks all. I think I did ok on this unit and the seller has been super cool.

Well I wouldn't use scanners slower than 30k for text. Even at 30k the flicker can be a bit irritating when the words are across the projection area. I don't think the scrolling improves this, it just means you can have more text go past. In fact it may make the flicker worse because of the constant movement.

On a budget, I'd use DT40 scanners. If not on a budget and quality is important, then Cambridge Technology CT6800HP or faster CT6215 up to 60k, or any of the Eye Magic scanners 30k or faster.
