additionally as was pointed out you can connect a FB3 to a LAN with a $40 box... a lot cheaper than a .NET enclosure (and I own a .NET QM for the record)

and with each revision the FB3 has been getting more capable... like it has 8 color channels now for example (FB3-QS)

have you seen beyond? the 3D interface looks JUST LIKE 3d studio max... I mean seriously identical... except your working straight to laser... so instead of paying a bunch of $$$ for LC-MAX and a bunch of $$$ for 3D studio max... its all built in to beyond...

if your doing 3D stuff beyond is going to be a REALLY big deal

@master pj: there was a LEM in the US where people were showed how the 3D part of Beyond worked. I am not sure whether it was bill showing it or someone else did.
But i know they got a sneak preview.
    I didn't fail !
I just found out 10,000 ways that didn't work.

If someone else did then he could really get into trouble with something like that, I highly doubt if it wasn't bill that he'd approve such actions.

Hmmm... Given some of your previous complaints about Pangolin, I wonder about that statement, Frank! (Just kidding dude...)

But in all honesty, I, too, have seen the Beyond interface, and I agree with Frank. It is so close to 3D Studio Max that you could easily forget which program you are working with. The only difference is that *everything* you do is sent to the projector in real time. (That's awesome!)

Bill has demo'd the 3D Beyond engine several times at SELEM, and I have to say that it is *seriously* cool stuff. If the rest of the software (the timeline editor, etc) is as nice as the 3D environment, it will be a quantum leap ahead of anything else.
