be careful, that's not the first time I see this power supply for sale on ebay

but for that price, even a single capacitor from the bank will be worth more, so it's a good deal

Don't forget that 405nm was just as expensive as this thing about 2-3 years ago when Blu-ray started to pick up. 445 is now dropping beneath the $1/mW range (like DPSS green), and I'm taking a guess when I say that some manufacturers are ramping up for laser projection markets (e.g. television or home cinema).

Let these babies drop a bit more and 405 will be knocked clean out of the market, and maybe even 473 because of its high cost and power instability. 445 will give you the best of both worlds...
    Wow- that would be great!
If this is true, wouldn't we expect the same thing to happen with some tasty high output 642nm(ish) diodes as well? I love that 445 wavelength, just out of my price range.
edit- I also wonder if one of the available lasorbs would work with these? I would definitely want a lasorb on any diode, especially any that cost as much as these little babies

    I doubt that very much

405nm you find in millions of blueray players, 445nm is still rare, and the ones used for laser TV or projectors are multimode with terrible beam specs, so the only real option is Nichia at the moment, so expect the price to drop very slowly.

    Similar for Optnext 640nm.

You have Lasorbs for Red and lasorbs for Blue. They are different because blue diodes run at a much higher voltage. You cannot use a red lasorb for a blue diode.

    Sorry Guys... Shameless plug...

Ben's just sold a very similar unit for $2080, so I guess someone could get a decent buy

Possible whitelight up for grabs for $400, including chiller!

Too bad I'm not state side.

Also spotted a SP2550 and an ALC argon head (type/power) unknown.

That Liconix looks like a bargain. I reckon the chiller alone is worth close to the asking price for the whole lot.
They are taking the piss a bit wth the 60x though.

Yap, I figured as much too. Unfortunately I'm not in the US, and the seller doesn't ship to Europe, otherwise this thing would probably be in my garage by now.
