The LENS27 beam diameter @ 24m is <20 x 15mm with this .65um DVD diode, so far field will be a close match to most greens and near field 4 beams in a <3.5mm area should be possible

Thanks Simon. Well, LENS-27 just ordered

It would be pity to have such a nice module, with bad optics

    Hi SBK,

I am in the proces of milling my own mounts and I was wondering if you could share your building-plans of your mounts? If you wish to keep them for yourself I understand .

Little update : I received the LENS-27, installed them, passed a lot of hours trying to get the best alignment of the 4 beams, and now I finally obtained a relatively good beam data : total is 2x4mm, but the most power concentration should be on an even smaller surface

Also I developped a small TEC driver, it's the lil board on the top of the module. It's adjusted for 20°C +-1°C, and seems to works well, despite it's only an on/off circuit with constant current source.
And maybe I should consider an external driver case, as all these boards take a lot of place...

Ah and about the power, I obtain a nice 1.2 watt after all the optics, with 350mA per diode, I'm quite happy

Thanks That comment makes me forget a little the freakin hours and problems spent to build this module I didn't count how many times I told me if only I simply buyed an already made laser... But now I can say : I did it myself

Yes at my work I have some 5W laser engravers which I can sometimes use for my own purposes, it's nice!

In fact the size of the module is 88 x 72mm (3.5" x 3"). But it's quite large compared to the modules of p1t8ull or MechEng3 lol.

Great job SBK! those LENS27's are expensive but give excellent results
When is the first production batch run of these modules starting?

Yes, expensive, about 40$ per unit, with the customs tax!!

Lol, I think I'll never again build a red module, that's too much work Although, now that I know better how to proceed, it would be easier to make one... And will certainly change some little things in the design, especially on the adjustments side

Have you seen the price for a 1,2W red with those beamspecs (kvant)
    I think Its worth it.
