A modified sound device isn't a specific piece of hardware with specific specs or drivers. It's a concept. Everything that has gone into making multichannel sound devices a working, marketable concept has nothing to do with laser display. Streaming data to a sound device is also a very generic...

I think Helios works on multi operating systems as well. It's a good bargain and works great.

There is one thing you can say about a modified sound device that you can't say about any other laser controller. It's a sound device! It's generic. It's an open standard. It works in any OS.

You need to get the direct voltage from each channel of the dac. You might be able to do it with that, but the USB SND8 with the CM6206 chip is very easy to mod and can be found on aliexpress for less than $20. http://laserboy.org/forum/index.php?topic=561.0 James.

That's what you already have. X Y color color is either a hex 0xRRGGBB or -1. If it's -1 it's blank which is not the same as 0x000000 (black).
